Though that's not the direction my story was going to cover it is an interesting idea. Nocturnal or (what the frack is twilight hunters name?) due to their eyes. Bright lights, damn! I should have put that the lights hurt her eyes! damn, damn.Tairis Deamhan wrote...
On that note, going to suggest that quarians are very good sprinters (very good top speed) but inferior distance/endurance runners. Would fit the evolution of a nocturnal ambush predator.
Again as always, just my personal take.

Crepuscular is the word you're looking for. It seemed logical to me, a savannah ecosystem is hard on large predators (as they tend to have higher energy requirements). Twilight and night hunting prevents them from becoming overheated and lets them expend less energy as its easier to sneak up on prey. Less energy expended in the hunt.
The sprinting I'm leaning towards just because of their leg structure. Lots of long muscles that I would think could give an astounding amount of energy in one go. The 'tali pounce' could have its origins in a much more primal time (as suggested in your story)

Shepard: Just a few days ahead of us...
Garrus: C'mon, Tali! We're gaining on them.
Tali: I'm wasted on cross-country. We quarians are natural sprinters. Very dangerous over short distances.

Wait, so Garrus is the prancy elf in this scenario? That is hilarious. For some reason I can totally see Joker making them watch this movie and making the same comparisons.

The sprinting does make sense. I think our views of their world differ slightly but vast savannahs do cover a great deal of their world. (At least in my vision) Also, without knowing the distance from their sun, we don't know if it's hotter or colder than earth.Tairis Deamhan wrote...

Well always going to be some differences of opinions.
I was mostly thinking that their area of origin would strongly resemble the african savannah of earth, but possibly a little more 'hilly' and rocky in places (Two strong toes give better grip, where as larger flat feet support the almost completely flat landscape of earth's savannah)
Otherwise I try to avoid the 'Star Wars Planet' syndrome where developed worlds only have a single ecosystem lol
Was it you that proposed the lower overall quarian body temp?

Hey guys! Remember that little topic about Chikkita and the pervy things it can do, and why Tali says that "Nothing's faster than Chikkita Vas Paus?" Well, someone just did a Rule34 of that.
Really? Hah, that's disgusting and awesome at the same time.

Okay, never can remember who did what anymore. I know I have you to thank for Quarian non-alcohol tolerance and primal quarians. Which just entertains me greatly.
Edit: Also I was sorely tempted to throw in a 'Laugh it up, Furball' reference between Shepard and Garrus in my last chapter, but just couldnt make it sound right.

I dunno you've already worked in a Shepard as Hannibal A-Team joke. Although one pop culture refrence per chapter may work.Tairis Deamhan wrote...

True. I was referring more to the fact that that the way you stated in the story that she effectively had alcohol poisoning. (Chakwas's comment about the filters)
This would seem to imply that *one* double whiskey probably put her well past tispy.

Yea that one actually came naturally since I just saw the new A-team movie.
Going to have to start a pop culture reference archive to see if I can keep up the one per chapter. Next bits are going to be fairly dark, so a little levity couldnt hurt.
