Well, I've read those noir parts, and you know what? Out of nowhere, I just chuckled at the end. Sure it gave me the sign that Rael cares more about the fleet than Tali, but somehow, I just can't make the connection between that Rael and the Rael I see in the game.

The man I see in the game worked desperately to grant his daughter's wish; a house on the homeworld, but his plans backfired badly. That's pretty much my burned in image of Rael. Few things will change that.

I never liked Rael.  Even if that was his plan, he should have known better. He should have done better. Like being there for her when she was in her bubble.  Tali deserves better.

Well, to each their own.

Either way, Rael may have loved his daughter, but he did NOT show it, and from Tali's perspective, I wonder how that must have felt. Keeping that in context, it still works.
