Someone is cranky tonight...
Immediately before coming here I was playing X-COM: UFO Defense, and once again i'd screwed up by being months behind on critical research, which culminated first in my A-Team getting utterly destroyed in a alien base attack, then being unable to respond to a few terror missions because the Skyranger servicing that area had been lost after a sole Muton killed everyone in the Skyranger before they even left the thing. Then my funding dried up at the end of the month and X-COM failed. Earth was taken over.
I was not a happy camper. After
years of playing this game, I've
still never beat it.
On another note, I've come to the conclusion that you're playing as the Illusive Man when you play that game. Think about it: you're playing as the leader of a clandestine human paramilitary group known for it's crazy science experiments, secretive funding, and wildly fluctuating competence of it's soldiers. Your entire goal in the game is to defend against the aliens, and not just kill them all but keep them from making treaties with governments funding you.
But then again, none of this has anything to do with this thread.
