Depends on how they handled it.  It could be that the first half of the game would be pursuit by the Spectre (especially if it was the Virmire survivor!) and the second half a series of fights against the arriving Reapers.

Either way, I fully expect in 3 for you to either be able to save/recruit the survivor or have to fight them until the halfway point of the game - about when the reaper war should be kicking off in ernest.

Depends on how they handled it.  It could be that the first half of the game would be pursuit by the Spectre (especially if it was the Virmire survivor!) and the second half a series of fights against the arriving Reapers.

God, I would love this.  But again, that's my perspective as a non-Ash/Kaiden lover.

Here's what I want.  A "no guns" option.  Shepard versus the survivor.  Mano a mano.  Hand to hand.  Because Mass Effect needs a few more martial arts fight scenes.

Actually, one more thing about the last Xen discussion.
Let's imagine Xen isn't someone "in the way of peace", rather, both the geth and quarians don't trust eachother, mutual peace IS NOT AN OPTION.
Rather:

1. You go in, full force, and destroy the geth, retaking Rannoch and allowing the quarians to maintain their civilian population. The quarians will join you, the salvage will help build more ships and repair those lost. The geth are destroyed, perhaps small pockets remain.
2. Xen turns them into mindless husks, tools. You will have a full fighting force consisting of quarians and mobile platforms/warships.
3. Xen makes them obedient like the Heretics planned. You will have a full fighting force consisting of quarians and "geth".
4. You have the quarians remain at the fleet, the geth will join you in your fight, the quarians will flee for the civilians' sake. (Except for a few soldiers and ships, perhaps)

Them being indoctrinated would explain why they weren't kidnapped by the Collectors when they were the first ones to be stung by the seeker swarm on Horizon.
