And a betrayed survivor won't switch sides? Or even an unromanced(!) survivor won't switch sides? The drama would almost be too much.
No, it would just be much, much harder to convince them. Then again, I am of the opinion that there should be some seriously failable dialogue branches. I don't want upper left blue and lower left red to be an auto win button.
I'd like, for this sort of an encounter, for them to keep a hidden tali (much like they did for Wrex). So that, when the end comes, your responses in the dialogue coupled with your fidelity (if they were your romance), and how you have resolved each encounter with them, determiens if they join you or not.
As cool as Wrex is, if you don't find the armor, he will die on Virmire, regardless of what you say IIRC. I
demand it to be something like that. Especially on my Ash romance playthrough. I want to have
earned her back. The reward would be totally worth it.
At the same time, I would also want a similar (though less extreme) situation with each of the LI's. I'd also like each one to be responsible for helping acquire a section fo the anti reaper army. That would be epic, and could tie in as a romance.
Tali = quarians
Legion = geth
Jack = Pirates
Mordin = STG
Garrus = C-Sec (possibly the Turians; maybehaps through his father?)
Grunt = Krogan
Jacob = Corsairs
Miranda = Cerberus
Samara = Asari
Thane = Drell/Hanar
Liara = Information Network
Virmire Survivor = Council
Shepard = the Alliance (throug Admiral Hackett?)
(Note, I don't count the DLC characters, as I have a sneaking suspicion they won't be in the next game)
Now when you add in the rachni as a 'suprise bukakke' to the reapers, that is a very, very impressive group. Although, I am pretty sure that we will end up with a batarian added to the crew in 3 - to better get teh Terminus Systems involved.
