Only quarians I don't hate are Veetor, Reeger, and Tali.
Well, Ysin'Mal Vas Ideena in that case.
EDIT: Yep, these too: Lia'Vael, Kenn, Valley Girl Quarian, and Slave Girl Quarian
Mal is an idiot.
He wants to use the Reapers to get to the geth. At least, he's considering it.
He'll probably side with Xen.

About half of Fanfiction.net seems to think she's painfully shy, a nervous wreck, helpless without Shepard, and can't fight so good.
That annoys me greatly. She is none of those things but they're in almost every story.

I wouldn't call Mal an idiot. Maybe he was misinformed about what the Reapers are, or maybe that event took place before the truth about the Reapers came out.

But Tali is also a world class fighter. People often lose perspective of that.

The shy part I definitely get.
And I would also add, however, that if she's alone, Tali is definitely weaker in a fight against a non-mechanical enemy than most any of the rest of the Normandy crew save Mordin.

They probably got that image when they saw the romance scene, and didn't look at her character as a whole. Yes, she can be shy, but that's because she was about to do something that she had never experienced before. She shows almost no signs of being that nervous in other situations.
People should analyze her character for more than five minutes if they're going to write about her.

Well, yeah, she's shy. Around Shepard. When talking about intimacy. That I can see.
But somewhere along the way it turns into every conversation with Shepard or just with everyone. I can't stand it. It's ridiculous and makes me wonder what in the hell these people were playing. Seriously, i've been here a while; ya'll might've noticed I don't get bent out of shape very often. But this has made me rage more times by the end of the first chapter than... well, anything else in recent memory. I think I literally started foaming at the mouth at this one.
I could go on, but that would require I find these horrors.
EDIT: Another gripe of mine is when people say 'dextro-DNA' instead of 'dextro-amino acids'. I start twitching every time I find that non-term. Half the reason I like Kikai is that she doesn't use that term.

”You're right... Sorry, I'm just a little bit sleepdeprived. Thank you Tali” he said and lifted his gaze to meet her shining eyes. He glanced over his shoulder again.
”Guess I didn't have that reach what needed to get that done” he chuckled. ”Nor the flexibilty” she quipped. Shepard allowed himself to smile a little bit, but her eyes revealed that she wasn't amused.
----------------------
”You really should be more careful...” she whispered and ran one of her digits on top of a long scar, that went from the collarbone down to his side. Her touch bringing goosebumps on his skin as it went down, her eyes following her finger. Shepard had closed his eyes and strived to focus his mind back to the present, ignoring the chills that her touch sent down his spine.

I only remember Her Trial and when she talks to Shepard about linking suits and still a little during 2nd romance dialogue.
Can't really remember nervous scenes from ME1. When she asked about the Geth data, perhaps?

No it isn't. I'm playing trying to get a Male and Female Shepard so I can beat everything in ME1 once and for all for a set of saves for ME2 playthoughs. I've been listening to about every line Tali has in ME1. She's been resigned, excited, intrigued, awestruck, homesick, sarcastic, thoughtful, and ruthlessly pragmatic. However, she's never once seemed 'nervous'. It's just not her.

She might be a nervous wreck, but for the most part it's a completely internal thing. The life she leads is such that no matter how she feels she has to keep moving forward.NCLanceman wrote...

I just say dextro-DNA, because I really don't care about the weakly structured and explained reason why they can't eat the same food as us.

Okay just read that second one... jesus that was a headache and a half.
As for ME1: I just thought I recalled her original dialogues during the whole bit with the council and the first couple conversations on the Normandy being a little less self assured. but then its also been awhile since I played 1.

In Virmire, she is worried, not so nervous.
Trial, to be exiled, or not
Romance, will she get rejected or not. O4R, will it work, will she survive.
At least those are the occasions I can remember her being clearly nervous.
