Bah It seems DA has decided to stop working since I didn't play it for so long. I have to reinstall it. All this talk of Cladia black VO's made me want to fire it up again.

(Tali enters Shepard's cabin.  Shepard is leaning back in his chair, elbow leaning on the counter.)

Tali: You wanted to see me?

(Shepard just picks up a datapad and hands it to Tali to read.  She does so, and as she does, she slowly looks up at Shepard.)

Tali: ...when did you get this?

Shepard: After the trial.  I didn't show it to you right away because I didn't know if it would be a good idea.

Tali: A "good idea"?  Shepard, Daro'Xen wants to reclaim the geth and make them her army.  Why do you think I wouldn't be interested in this?

Shepard: That's not what I'm saying, Tali.  (He stands up.)  I didn't show it to you because I didn't know what my response was going to be.

Tali: Judging by this letter, I think I already know.

Shepard: That's why I brought you up here.  I wanted to tell you upfront.  (He lays his hands on her shoulders - their usual sign of intimacy.)  If she goes ahead with this and tries to attack my people, I will empty a clip in her head.  No excuses.

Tali: I know, Shepard.

Shepard: If that happens, I'm apologizing ahead of time.  All right?  You know I like your people.  But I won't sit here and watch while Daro'Xen pulls this kind of crap.  If she does -

Tali: -I'll help you pull the trigger.

Shepard: ...what?

Tali: Shepard, I may not be able to stay in touch with my first family anymore, but you've given me another family that loves me just the same.  You don't know how grateful I am for that.  And even though I love the fleet, I love the replacement as well.  I won't let anyone, human or quarian, walk over either one.

Shepard: Me neither, Tali.  We'll protect them.  Together.  All right?

Tali: Yes, Captain.
