I read this mini fan fic a while back which got me to think about the Shepard/Tali relationship. Do you think that one of the reasons, or the reason, she loves you is because you are an ideal father figure in her life. From what we learn from Tali, Rael is barely in her life (to the point where he never says "I love you" to her) and is more focused on the fleet that her. Whereas Shepard saves her life the first time they meet, takes her on an adventure, continues to save her life here and there, treats her better than any alien (or Quarian by the sounds of it [outside of Kal and Shala(even she plays with her emotions during the trial)]), gives her the geth data to complete her pilgrimage, and even voices his appreciation for all she's done.
