First row, fourth from the left in the asari concept was the closest I got to being satisfied, until Buddha pointed out the ear issue.

You could still be right:  those are just concepts.  As I've said, there's one in the bottom row that obviously got re-worked into the present model for the batarians.

I can go off and explain thoroghly in detail about my problems with it as I have already done repeatedly in the past, but this is the concise version; too human-looking.

When I see human-looking Tali, I imagine human with 3 fingers.
If something has 3 fingers it must look alien, Tali with purple skin is enough for me to .

(I ran this through an "old photo" filter the other night. Didn't work out so well.

Have you ever played Batman: Arkham Asylum? The game looks beautiful, the art direction is fantastic. It projects the grim and dark nature of Gotham so very well. Unfortunately, much of the game is spent using the Detective Vision, and while it is a useful function, it ends up looking at everything in black and white. It dampens the visuals, it's almost tragic.

I decided to add some restraint and used a very small color pallete for that piece, to add some stylization. You know; brooding.

And now you wonder why Tali's face has stayed unseen. It would not fulfill any of our expectations. Also, the Boba Fett effect.

That came later.

It was late one night, it was me, Jones, and maybe NCL and Mozer... I think... anyway, it was mostly just me and Jones that night. We got to talking about Xen. we shared some ideas we both liked. He decided to do a fic. I also wanted to do one, but was less vocal, and essentially, he called it. Because I still wanted to be a part of it, I offered to do art. At some point, I offered to help with the wrting too. I was always a part of helping with the plot though.

I don't care what she looks like, nor do most of us, doesn't mean we can't hope for our own personal perfection.

And if you start the mystique/Boba Fett arguement, prepare to be shunned.

I have not.  Perhaps I should look into it if I ever have time.

It's good:  there are a lot of things I like about the piece.  Not too visually busy, complements the described action, just a hint of decor on the dress.  I also like how the legs are merely implied:  gives it kind of an etherial look.  Additionally, the hands.

When I ventured back to 4chan, somone posted a rule 34 pic of Tali. This concept looked very human, that is when I realized how odd it would look for something to appear so human, yet have three fingers and chicken legs, and hair. It just looked strange.

Adding any sort of alien elements would greatly help the appearance for the quarians, in my opinion.

I was led to believe chapter 5 would be the start of the fan hitting.

hey u guys i listened to your tip and renegaded legion and tali and so she was loyal and is not killed in the vents!!!!! but then at the end she was just gone because the collectors had killed her and mordin when i was fighting the boss fight!!! it makes no sence cuz she was loyal. then i reloaded and she was in my squad at the end because there nobody died before! and then she survived!! lol!! its totaly strange!! mordin was dead and jack but it wasnt bad, jack was making trouble all the time and is anoying!! so at the end everything was good!!! but its very strange that loyal people die there! o__O
