We had this discussion some time ago, but I'd like to discuss it further. How do you all think of a wedding between Shepard and Tali? Not the priority, but I think it could be nice if done correctly. Some think it's too sappy, though.

I wedding would be lovely, but I'd be fine without it. Their relaionship has really only just begun growing into real love and it needs time to blossom.

And there will be plenty of time for that between games, I can't see ME3 happening any less than 3-5 years after ME2

Really? The ME2 ending gives me the impression that ME3 will start shortly afterwards. Seriously, Shepard has his whole team there in the ending (you don't see Tali though...wtf bioware) and they all look like  they're ready to go after the Reapers. I really doubt it will be 3-5 years.

I just cant see the reapers arriving all that fast, they are WAY the hell out there.

So, other than talking about fapfics, is there any intelligent discussion going on right now :?

I have considered ending my Reunion fic with something... not T rated. I'm pretty sure I won't do that though, although the thought of writing the stuff that proceeds and succeeds the consummation of their love is somewhat appealing (rather than the actual scene itself).

It almost looked like it was going there at one point though!

So you're thinking of ending it with a love scene?

You really want their relationship to develop off-screen? Really? Just so ME3 can end in marriage?

Actually, im against the wedding idea.  But, no i don't want it to develop off screen.  The thing is that for the most part it will have to, unless the Reapers magically teleport to the edge of the galaxy in one week.

It's not really magically. The Reapers have extremely advanced technology, if they can't get to the Milky Way within a year I doubt they could within 3-5 years. The ME2 ending gives the impression that ME3 will start shortly afterwards, and so have the interviews I've read.

In my opinion, they are all equaly important in really selling the depth of the character's feelings for each other. But, again, this is just my opinion.

No. I've considered it, but I don't think I'll do that. Maybe I'll end it just as they begin or something like that, and narrate that they made love.

well, being BioWare they will find some way to explain the reapers moving that fast.  They did say they would find another way, so i guess they will huh?

I don't think she'll be bewilered at all (she's very intelligent), at most just thinking the formality is excessive. But really, we have no insight on how weddings are conducted in Quarian culture, besides the fact that they have marriages.

They have a primarily military culture based on the info from ME1.  So ship weddings by the captain - who is also the equivelant to a magistrate - is probably the norm.
Tali would likely have a different headwrap, Though I am unsure what color would be a good symbol for commitment for Quarians.  I am thinking it would be colors similar to whatever heraldry/symbol is used for the ship she serves on - so she would probably white, black and gold (or blue and gray if back to the oldschool colors).
Also, I could see a symbolic Enviroment Syncing being the crowning moment of the ceremony.
It would be cool if, in Quarian culture, the couples had a part of their suits that was identical - likely one of the arms.  So having Tali get the Red and White N7 stripe after marryning Shep would be cool.  Then  Shep could wear a uniform(when not in armor) with the same stripe. ^_^

Hey folks, just chimming in on this beautiful rainy Sunday. I've never so much minded the depiction of Love Making or Sex between Tali and Shep in Fiction. The only problem with it is that most FF is, well, frankly quite bad. Maybe it's due to the fact that I've spoiled myself on great *Mature* writers like R.R. Martin, but my view is that if you're going to attempt Erotica of one type or another in your respective fiction, be sure you can acutally *Write*.

I know alot of FF writers put thier heart, soul, and passion for the content and characters into thier work, however sometimes that just isn't enough. So, simply put, I think Sex or Sexual themes in FF are great, and sometimes really help flush out character relationships; the only downside is when they are implented or worded poorly.

I think they should have time gaps during the war.  Not the typical time gaps that are a result of gameplay, but time gaps that give you a sense of how long and hard the characters have been fighting.  Something that shows the changes the characters go through, new scars, sunken eyes, that type of thing.  Something like what happened in Battlestar Galactica when they settled that one colony.  Kara grew out her hair, Pres. Roselin became a teacher again, stuff happened that you could see.

That would be a perfect way to do such a marriage.

All that info can't be in ME1, did you read Ascension or something?

Maybe I need to read the codexes finally. Plan on reading Ascension as well.

And I like the N7 stripe idea, only the vice versa: Shepard wears that pretty violet cloth Tali has on his arm

I will admit, a better analogy could have been used.
