Quarians would have to get a lot more synthetic, or Geth would have to get a lot more organic.

Actually, I think it would be quite the opposite. Unless if you have one of those random idiots that gets overly paranoid and tries to kill  one of the other...I mean, it should last.  Both factions know that a war against eachother would be drastically foolish...and whoever would be victorious would realize the victory would be rather...hollow...if i could put it...

I'm basically doing that, yeah.  What I mean with experimenting is...well, I'm trying to get myself in the role of Tali, like I was an actor.  (And let's ignore the gender crap here - yeah, I'm a guy, but there are male authors who have successfully done this with a female protagonist, like in Memoirs of a Geisha.)  I'm trying to engulf myself in a role as if I was her in that scene.  And I'm wondering what the best way to go about writing the draft while doing that is.  Maybe stream-of-conciousness, maybe something else.  Dunno yet.

Hmmm, what'd be a good idea is listen to some of her dialogue and the sort. Always keep in mind of her character qualities such as selflessness. She can be nervous, but also keep in mind she's been through a lot of scenarios that would break the average man. So she's not completely helpless. 

She's just a kind, caring soul who's seen a lot of things...

and has a big ol' shotgun.

yeah, when it is all done, I plan on releasing like one chapter a week or so

I like your style. Wish my laptop worked so I could do that. When sitting under the stars, and staring into that deep and nearly endless void... I find it kind of opens your mind. Good environment for writing an FF in the ME universe.

I won't speak for Rune, but I agree with him that it may not last. If you look at it in the scope of the game, even the most Paragon Shepard brokering peace and cupcakes for all, its all for one goal: The war against the Reapers. After that, sure there may be pace for some time, but unless Shepard plans on become the emperor of the galaxy, policing his lands, eventually you'll get more Daro's and Heretics.

The only thing you could hope is that Shepard, Legion, and Tali leave a lasting enough impression that none wipes each other out.

I know In ME1 when talking to Wrex, Shepard says he can't do this (galaxy saving and fighting ) forever. Maybe foreshadowing?

Indeed. I have some thunder storms rolling over right now. Not raining, just the occasional flash of lightening and the subtle roar of thunder. What's amazing is that in some of the breakage of clouds, you can clearly see the stars though it. 

Looking forward to the FF also.

...There are 500+ billion stars out there in our galaxy, to imagine that a good amount have planets in their harbor... what lies on them is for us to find out... not now, but eventually...

My answer woulld be coming at about 95% the speed of light.
Mostly because I wouldn't hold them to an honorable deal, much less an act of cowardice such as that.

They'd come for Earth no matter what.
