I bet in ME3, the Reapers are gonna offer Shepard some kind of deal, like the human race will be spared.
Mostly because I wouldn't hold them to an honorable deal, much less an act of cowardice such as that.
They'd come for Earth no matter what.

I was replaying ME2 today, and beat Tali's Loyalty Mission, which made me wonder again: If the Geth and Quarians are able to make a truce (as my Shep would prefer), I wonder if it will last.
The only thing you could hope is that Shepard, Legion, and Tali leave a lasting enough impression that none wipes each other out.
The thing is though, that there is no real impetus for war between the two once the quarians get their homeworld back. They don't want to kill the geth because the geth massacred them 300 years ago, they want to kill them because they want their homes back, and its the only way that they know of. Assuming a peaceful solution is possible (and I can't see any way it wouldn't be,) there's no reason aside from massive paranoia to go to war.
I find this unlikely as well, for the geth, they had plenty of opportunity to finish off the quarians in the past, and they refused. As long as they aren't attacked first, I don't see them doing anything. For the quarians, they don't have the option to attack until centuries down the road when they get some power and stability back. By then, those memories of hating the geth have faded, and they've lived in peace for a very long time. They're never gonna be friends obviously, but there isn't some deep seeded hatred that will lead to one's destruction in the future.

Eh... The Quarian's feelings on the Geth ain't exactly "rational" (Aside from Qwib-Qwib, Suit-Wetter that he is); most of them still hate the Geth for FIGHTING BACK AFTER THE QUARIANS TRIED TO EXTERMINATE/LOBOTIMIZE THEM.
Like all ethnic hatreds (which, really, this almost is), it isn't based on Logic or Reason. It's tribal, Us-vs-Them at its finest.

Hmmm, what'd be a good idea is listen to some of her dialogue and the sort. Always keep in mind of her character qualities such as selflessness. She can be nervous, but also keep in mind she's been through a lot of scenarios that would break the average man. So she's not completely helpless.
She's just a kind, caring soul who's seen a lot of things...
and has a big ol' shotgun.
Yeah, I definitely need to study her more. Really get into what kind of person she is. So far, though, I'm glad she's not completely passive - she actively disagrees with Shepard's plan to recruit Smile, but decides that she trusts his judgment enough to follow him. For now. And this session of writing even had her use some wit. I don't think I'm too screwed when it comes to portraying her.

If they thought that, they would have acted by now. Any war in their situation will have too many civilian casualities, and casualties in general for their race to sustain, and they know it. They aren't going to war unless they know they can win, and even then, the only reason would be to reclaim their homeworld. You don't go to war just because you can win.

I definitely don't recall that being supported anywhere in game. If anything, I got the feeling that a lot more sympathized with the geth, and understood their actions, but still value their own species' survival over the geth's. I actually think that the quarians see the geth as a lot more than the rest of the galaxy do. The rest of the galaxy tend to look at them as dangerous robots that need exterminated, while the quarians know what they are, and all about them. I see the council races hunting down the geth long before the quarians do.
