What if the expansion was about the quarian geth conflict and the romance pack became a reality? What if both of those things took place 2-3 years after ME2? Would you be open to an ME3 that took place 3-5 years later? Remember that Wrex still needs to get control of his krogan by the end of ME2 and that may take time to unite them and Shepard doesn't want to wait for that in ME3. Remember thatt the Rachni have only had 2 years to rebuild their entire race and their fleet, giving them 3-5 years to finish that would go a long way.Collider wrote...
I don't agree with ME3 starting 3-5 years though after ME2 though. Not only would that assumably mean that the relationship with Tali developed offscreen (developing inbetween games is pretty bad), but it would seem go against how ME2's ending was, where all of your squad mates looked at you expectantly, like they were waiting for orders against the Reapers. You can say, well ME2 "started" 2 years after ME1, but that was only because Shepard "died." They can't pull off Shepard dying again, it worked in ME2 but wouldn't work in ME3.GuardianAngel470 wrote...
I think they should have time gaps during the war. Not the typical time gaps that are a result of gameplay, but time gaps that give you a sense of how long and hard the characters have been fighting. Something that shows the changes the characters go through, new scars, sunken eyes, that type of thing. Something like what happened in Battlestar Galactica when they settled that one colony. Kara grew out her hair, Pres. Roselin became a teacher again, stuff happened that you could see.
That would be a perfect way to do such a marriage.

I prefer having "time jump" in the course the game instead of having years of gap between ME2 and ME3. I really want to see the relationship with Tali develop on screen, especially since it has really just started.CamoBadger wrote...

It may start earlier, and I'm pretty sure BioWare is more creative than that. They wouldn't just kill off Shepard again. They may find another way to work around the time for the Reapers to get there. They may add in time jumps, as you reach points in the game it will do a 6 month jump or something like that. It may take 3 years for the reapers to arrive, but the entire time will be gathering allies to defeat them.

Agreed. I thought maybe "their debt to you" was repaid by taking out the collector base, but they were still there, giving you their nods of approval. Jack saying "I'm here to survive it, then split" makes me think she's gone but she's there, giving me a nod of approval.
Dying in ME2 was epic, can't redo that, but could easily start off ME3 in a courtroom or something, directly after destroying the CB.
And once again, Shepard takes out a major Reaper weapon and nobody will know about it.
More "ahh yes, the Collector Base you destroyed by going through the Omega 4 Relay, we have dismissed these claims".

Those are all hypothetical questions. I really doubt something like that would occur. I wasn't really factoring in an expansion, and even then you could say the expansion was part of ME2. I prefer the continuation of the romance itself to be in ME3 rather than as DLC. Why? Because of continuity. I wouldn't mind some more activities or references to their relationship, though, but I'd rather wait for ME3 for the relationship to further, especially since ME3 will have a different context.GuardianAngel470 wrote...

And this is likely how it will happen. It doesn't take 5 days to get EVERYONE to agree to fight the reapers. It will take alot of time. You will likely need to solve REALLY big problems:
-Geth vs. Quarians
-Krogan Unification
-The Council won't even agree until the reapers blow up a planet.
-Batarians don't like humans.
-Rachni may be easy, but they will need time to prepare.

If they do that they are as good as dead. If their blindness results in the deaths of millions they are going to wish they were dead. But I still have a few tricks up my sleeve, and by the end we'll see who was being manipulated.
