With that thinking, why should we have law enforcement or law at all? If rapists are always going to rape, why bother trying to fight it? If murderers are always going to murder, why try to stop it?
Spectres exist outside of the law for a reason. To take out people that can't be taken out with the law. First and Last Line of Defense. If it stops another person going through what Jack did, if it brings the parents of Hilo some measure of peace, I'll burn the entire pro-human movement until there is nothing but scorched earth. I do not expect the Council or the Alliance to condone my actions. I do not condone my actions.
But I'm still willing to see it through. When monsters find that they are indeed not the scariest thing lurking in the dark, they will know that it is too late, and they will be swallowed up by the darkness that serves the light.
There a difference: The police don't shoot the entire ****ing family because the father held up a liquor store.
You punish the wicked, sure, but you seem also content with punishing anyone else in a five mile radius.
They shouldn't have been standing in my way.
That is not subjective you are talking about, that is perspective.RiptideX1090 wrote...

That is not the same. Law enforcement does not track down criminals and exploit them to simply take down one specific threat. In fact, some of these people being disposed of are not even criminals, yet you remorselessly end them just because they were nearby. Is it right to honor or mourn someone by killing anyone who had the faintest bind of responsibility? A self-righteous monster is still a monster, he just has better excuses.RiptideX1090 wrote...

I'm not a good person. Nor will you EVER hear me claim as such. I know good and well what I am. I can live with that.

Right. I agree. I want to finish at least one of them first before really launching into 2A2B2SH. I would have to say that your comments on FF.net are most encouraging. Not as... intense as Kerrith's, but very encouraging. Thanks for the feedback.
You mean the "wow, just wow" comment?
I can try and give even better and thoughtful comments after the weekend, if you'd like.

But that does not make it right. If you are not seeking what is right, you are doing this for your own relief.RiptideX1090 wrote...
Law enforcement would if they could. Hence, the Spectres.
Those who are responsible must take responsibility for what they have done. If not, they will be made to.
A self righteous monster is still a monster. I never claimed to be anything less.

Either way. The value of a a person's life only matters in terms of who is looking at that life. Someone like TIM, means absolutely nothing to me.
Someone like Tali, would mean everything.

Right? Who said anything about right? I don't think I'm better than anyone, I don't care if it's right, or wrong. It's what I'm willing to do. It's what I'm going to do. Whether it is right or wrong depends solely on perspective. Some will agree. Others will not. Anyone who gets in my way, burns.
Exactly what are you trying to accomplish with this and explain why. You seem to want to do this because you feel comfortable with it. Why do you feel comfortable with it? Is it because nothing else pleases you?RiptideX1090 wrote...

Subjective pertains to varying circumstances and factors. Perspective is what you or another sees depending on your own views. Because a life means nothing to you, they are fair game?
That is a very self-destructive outlook.RiptideX1090 wrote...
In a philosophical sense, no.
In a real sense, yes. If someone decides to murder you, you're fair game, period. It's them making a choice and following through. It's not right. It's not fair. But it is what happens. I never claimed to be above petty murder or cruelty. All I'm saying is that I'm willing to take responsibility for it, to own those decisions, and to live with them, on my own.

I just hope in the end you realize that you will be the bigger monster. And you will be the last monster.RiptideX1090 wrote...
This is who I am. This is how I think. It's simply what I am. I don't try to fight it. I take responsibility for it. I own it. I do not condone torture. I do not condone murder. I do not condone violence. That does not mean I won't use them if I absolutely have to. If me becoming a monster stops an even bigger monster, I can do that. I am at peace with that.
