This is actually why I went with a turian for Zaeed in Warrior. I thought to myself, "it'd be ridiculous for him to have been involved with a quarian. The odds make no sense!"
Well, we don't really know the odds. Assuming a balanced gender split, then 5/8.5x10^6 is a small number involved with other species.
The fundamental mindset would seem more problematic. The Quarians subordinate individual desires for the good of the fleet - in essence, they have used a communal (or, more pointedly, communist) system successfully. Humans seem more driven by individual success. That seems likely to lead to some epic family fights.
Nameless Human = NH, Nameless Quarian = NQ, assume male NH, female NQ.
NH: I just got paid for some consulting work! Let's buy some great food and have a celebration.
NQ: Wonderful! Everyone on the ship will really enjoy it.
NH: Uhh...honey...I was thinking just the two of us...
NQ: (Glares) My mother warned me about human selfishness.
NH: (Thinks of Quarian pounces) Look, I don't mind sharing, but we deserve this.
NQ: (Hands on hips. Glares) Yes,
we do. We, as in everyone on this ship who kept it going while you were doing your consulting.
This probably will not end well.
