Of course, and I'm sure they also didn't have evolutional repercussions in mind for random facts like the quarians transmit the pollen on their planet, or that Rannoch is slightly more arid than Earth.  That's what you do on forums, examine things closer than the game developers ever did =]

Or come up with something that makes the unusual design look both logical and possible. That's always fun.

But not so much when the developer comes up with something half-assed that could easily be torn apart if someone with a good eye looked closely.

I think you all should think of that BW designed the quarians out of a artistically viewpoint. I doubt that they drew the quarian's legs with just practical uses or biological evolution in mind.

It's more likely that they made them that way just to they'd look alien and cool.

granted but then we would have nothing to debate about, and wheres the fun in that?Image IPB

San Antonio is on the convergence of Texas's many climates. Muggy one week. Arid the next.

Or so I'm told.

If the quarian homeworld didn't develop the insect life as seen on Earth, how do you suppose plant-life evolved? Though truly, it's only flowering plants that have had to depend on various insects. No flowers on Rannoch?

You made me think of that horse track scene form Crank 2 High Voltage. There was a lot of *ahem* friction, to say at least.

If there were flowers I'd imagine that they would be the size of small trees and droop low to the ground.

I thought the explanation for the quarian immune systems was that they were the ones who took up the roles of insects in flowering plants.  Granted, I'm not sure how much actual sense this makes, but its the explanation I've seen.

true. Also note, the skin I am talking about is not scaled - simply slightly tougher than a humans. It would be cooler to the touch, and smooth. Not scaled.

A more arid environment would also indicate that they would likely not release excess water as humans do, is all I am saying.

Im not saying I would not like that just that it dose not make sense to me. But it really dosent have to I realy like the Idea o Tali haveing a slightly lower body temp than humans, gives us more reson to snuggleImage IPB, not that you really need any moreImage IPB

and the tougher skin could be rationalised simpy by grunts comment, but I think this would be more plausible if refering to muscle or bone density.

yes but Texas for the most part is ignificantly more arid then most other places in the country. Were talking about an entire planets eco system not regions on the planet.

You've obviously never been to Texas.

I bet you think we all ride horses and say "y'all" on a bi-minute basis.

dude I lived in Houston for 15 yearsImage IPB, (loved it by the wayImage IPB) but any where near the gulf is going to have a humid swqamp feel, but the further away you get it gets progressively  morre arid. I mean the difference between houston and dallas is huge right there now go further toword Elpaso and the difference only grows. But seriously how awsome is Texas like on every level! A veritable land of awsome and a culture and history filled with bad asses.

You loved living in Houston?

You must be dead inside...

sorry not houston itself meant Texas(I type very mismatchedly at times), I did love houston for the people I knew but the area its self not so much.

I thought the explanation for the quarian immune systems was that they were the ones who took up the roles of insects in flowering plants.  Granted, I'm not sure how much actual sense this makes, but its the explanation I've seen.

I thought of that once, thinking of quarians having very fine hair across their whole bodies which can pick up pollen floating around Rannoch. But then I would think that would make the quarian immune system stronger if pollen was a major factor in plant reproduction. I also thought about other methods seen on Earth where plants require a symbiosis with another being for it's reproduction. The implications were... unpleasant.

So then I figured plant life most likely dispersed spores much like ferns or dropped seeds. I do like the idea that flowers could be a unique evolutionary development of Earth, though. Don't know what sort of planet would then be unique to an alien world. Bioluminescent. Too Avatar at this point, I suppose.

What? We gotta get rid of this Mountain Juniper somehow, otherwise it chokes the water right out of the ground.

could be but Tali mentions smelling flowers on the Aleri, granted she could have learned of them during her pilgrimage or during child hood but I doubt it would have the same emotional impact then.
