I don't quite understand why you all have a severe hang-up over the fact that there might be lots of tubes and such under there. Hell, she probably even has cybernetic interfaces for some things. It's not that weird.

Agreed. The suit SHOULD be like that. It should be tragic.

Do we HAVE to be tragic?  Does everything have to be horrible for you guys? :V

I'm actually completely opposed to tragedy and want everything to be rainbows and butterflies happy.  I'm outnumbered most of the time

It's like an IV tube and not a **** little needle. There's no knocking one of those out by accident.

Perceptions are odd, are they not?

My thoughts about the suit are that it is temperature controlled, with filtered air.  That it is made to be comfortable.

In fact - in your chapter 3 FanFic, didn't you have DaroXen remark on the soft interior of her suit?

Eh the horse isn't dead yet just a little bit maimed. But either way it's what makes Tali who she is. It's all the problems piled up on top of her. Showing her how different she is from everyone else even the other dextro's. Yet she still maintains a positive outlook on things. It's what endears me to her honestly.

I think the loss of actual tactile phsyical contact, the constant danger of death from a tear in a suit, not having a home, and generally being a despised race is enough of a 'life suck' without also pumping a character full of an unrealistic amount of needles and tubes.

Ascension mentions that the suits are comfortable and temperature controlled, they also have a young autistic girl wearing one without being jabbed and inserted with crap.  That's good enough for me really.

has anyone here even read ascension? and the suit is practicly skin tight not a hole lot of room for invasive hardware underneath. The codex says that quarians are given cybernetic implants to help fight infection before pilgrimage would it not make senes, and hopfully end this bs fest, if some are designed to comfortably link quarian biosystems to the suits tech and allow for easy ware and removal in case of emergencies that require the suit to be completely or partially removed?

Hey guys. Hey. Guys. You know what?

She probably has a *shifty eyes* catheter!

Oh noes!

Seriously, the lot of you are a bunch of babies if this kind of stuff bothers you that much.

Fully agreed, the quarian story is incredibly tragic enough, rampant masochism doesn't appeal to me :?

This, for ****'s sake.

Give the girl a break.

She doesn't need to live in an iron maiden when everyone is rocketing through big machines built by Space-Cthulhu.

This is believable, and probably would be the case. Having 5000 needles in a skintight suit, [that can be put on in Ascension by a child], is not.

Yeah, we know, Kikai.

Does that make it a pleasant topic?

No.

I've studied medicine.

It doesn't phase me anymore.

*highfive*

I applaud your strong stomach.

The rest of you are more squeamish than a girl.

I could see anti-biotics being administered in a similar way to the upgrade for Shep that infuses his bones with medigel or something to speed up healing.  We know quarians undergo processes like that for cybernetic implants.  External things like needles would hardly be necessary in that case.

I think the problem we're having here is you guys assume this stuff would be painful. I've had tubes stuck in my veins, I've had lots of IVs. Guess what? It doesn't hurt. It's not even uncomfortable after a while because you get used to it. If done correctly, those bastards aren't coming out on accident and shifting isn't going to harm the skin or anything. And she must have some kind of IV or at least an interface, because she has to be able to inject antibiotics. Waste removal would also be an issue. Neither of which are going to be very intrusive after a while because you get used to it.

It's not unrealistic. I've seen people who have saline locks in every portion of there body. And they did things just fine. And it actually made a lot of sense. Just like the ACU's with a turnicat for every part of the body. It's safer and when the **** hits the fan having those things there for you can save lives. But I guess I really am beating a dead horse now so I'll leave it be with that.

I know.  One time during a long hospital visit, I had to watch as a nurse tried to put a needle in my arm, but missed the vein like five times in a row. And I am very scared of needles, thanks to some bone marrow sample tests I had to when I was young.

But when she missed the fith time, I stopped caring about it and read a newspaper instead.

Point is that these kind of things are not so rough if you get used to them.

I'm not squeamish, I'm realistic. You don't go running around in a skin tight outfit in combat with extensive invasive needles and tubes stuck in you. Why? Because having crap stuck inside you while being throw against walls, shot, rolling around on the ground and pushing your body to its phsyical limits would be extremely risky.

Yeah, we're not saying that it's like a tube nightmare and looks like something from a hentai or whatever. Just a couple IVs, probably one in each wrist, and some cybernetic interfaces. It would be minimal.
