Yeah, good for you.

Some people don't like the idea of jagged pumps being sliced into her veins.

You'll excuse me if I find the thought abhorrent.

Yeah, we're not saying that it's like a tube nightmare and looks like something from a hentai or whatever. Just a couple IVs, probably one in each wrist, and some cybernetic interfaces. It would be minimal.

Agreed.

Not saying it would be COMFORTABLE.

But I'm not saying she lives in an Iron Maiden either.

Seriously, the lot of you are a bunch of babies if this kind of stuff bothers you that much.

Why assume that this bothering us is the reason for speculating on alternate methods?  I'm just speculating on possibilities, the truth in the end is that we'll never know one way or the other anyway.  I just see the whole idea of the suits needing to work as we would understand them today akin to people in 1800 saying that cars that drive 200 miles an hour and airplanes are ridiculous because steam power is the only option.

Pain is needed for heartwarming. You can't have one without the other or it's cheap and undeserved.

Can we talk about something else, please? This is reminding me of my hospital visits. That's not what I want to see when I'm here.

And that's not what was implied when the conversation started. It was said that she was needled and tubed up like  the overlord guy, because that makes it more 'lul tragic'!

Actually I would expect that the cybernetics would be the entire reason that suit works. Minor cybernetic upgrades to the neck or wrist would give an injection point that wouldn't move or become damaged or irritated.

She's had enough pain for 5 lifetimes.
My Shepard is going to do everything in his power and more to make sure everything is the way she wants. She deserves it.

has anyone here even read ascension? and the suit is practicly skin tight not a hole lot of room for invasive hardware underneath. The codex says that quarians are given cybernetic implants to help fight infection before pilgrimage would it not make senes, and hopfully end this bs fest, if some are designed to comfortably link quarian biosystems to the suits tech and allow for easy ware and removal in case of emergencies that require the suit to be completely or partially removed?

I could see anti-biotics being administered in a similar way to the upgrade for Shep that infuses his bones with medigel or something to speed up healing.  We know quarians undergo processes like that for cybernetic implants.  External things like needles would hardly be necessary in that case.

I agree. I really don't think there's anything hideous inside those suits. Maybe just very pale skin...but that's okay.

Agreed. I think this is an uncomfortable topic for everyone.

An unwinnable one, at any rate.

it really dosent Im just tired of some people trying to make everything as horrible as they can. They make the tech sound like it would be like some kind of life supporting Iron Maiden or something out of a 40k inquisition novel. Honestly the way they describe with all kinds of tubes and needles ect, would be closer to a present day attempt at such a suit and honestly I think even with our current tech we could do a hole lot better than that. and were talking hundreds of years in the future with the Quarians haveing been an advanced space fairing race for millenia.

I'm not uncomfortable, but then again, I've been through worse things than having a couple IVs jammed in my veins :P

Yeah, and I find things like having billions of your ancestor exterminated, having your entire species ostracized for circumstances out of your control, living an extremely dangerous and complicated life, working hard for everything you get while others get what they want just for being born being completely happy.

Once you start getting ridiculous with pain it loses significance.

We know you and I aren't. Everyone else is. Regardless, this is like natural children, a topic best averted.

Also, Cybernetics can be hot.

I'm not going to disagree Rune she does deserve it. But even along the way there will be hiccups and as anyone with a long lasting relationship can tell you that it happens even if you're trying to prevent it. Hell it happens because you try to prevent it sometimes. To me it's things like that that make a story real and can actually move me to feel for the characters.

The problem comes in with the suspension of disbelief for future technology.  Its a lot easier to think about what's just around the corner for us technologically than what would be there in 200 years.
