I don't quite understand why you all have a severe hang-up over the fact that there might be lots of tubes and such under there. Hell, she probably even has cybernetic interfaces for some things. It's not that weird.
Agreed. The suit SHOULD be like that. It should be tragic.
Do we HAVE to be tragic? Does everything have to be horrible for you guys? :V
I bring JUST as much dawwww as I do pain.

Unfair assumption. I think cybernetics and needles would be kind of exoticaly attractive. But it isn't realisitc to think she has permanent or semi-permanent needles in her veins.RiptideX1090 wrote...

Agreed. I think this is an uncomfortable topic for everyone.
An unwinnable one, at any rate.
We know you and I aren't. Everyone else is. Regardless, this is like natural children, a topic best averted.
Also, Cybernetics can be hot.

But you'll forgive me when people go into detail about how they think she has needles and pumps and tubes and catheters all stabbed into her body just so she can live in a galaxy that spits on her and beats her down.

Poor wording. Doesn't matter, the fact is, a lot of people are uncomforatable.
And I don't think anyone wants permanent needles.

it really dosent Im just tired of some people trying to make everything as horrible as they can. They make the tech sound like it would be like some kind of life supporting Iron Maiden or something out of a 40k inquisition novel. Honestly the way they describe with all kinds of tubes and needles ect, would be closer to a present day attempt at such a suit and honestly I think even with our current tech we could do a hole lot better than that. and were talking hundreds of years in the future with the Quarians haveing been an advanced space fairing race for millenia.
And I must be the only person who thinks tubes are kind of sexy, too

A lot of the peoples here on Earth have that problem now. Look at what happened to the Jews in WWII. That's a horrifying event but it loses significance after a couple of generations because the new generations are used to the lifestyle and hearing about it that it just doesn't impact them as much. And I'm not talking about problems a whole people have I'm talking about an individuals problems. It's hard to sympathize with a whole people but it's easier when you're dealing with someone one on one.
The quarians are reminded of the pain of losing their homeworld every minute of every day while they live on the flotilla, can't feel the touch of anything, smell flowers, kiss the ones they love. Tali herself lost her mother diretly because of the past tragedy. It is hardly a distant memory that has faded over time. They live with that pain constantly.

When you consider all of that... plus what happened with her dad...
It really becomes apparent just how much of a bright spot Shepard is in her life.
