Chakwas: It looks as though the procedure was a success, Commander. Complete dermal reconstruction.
*Shepard picks up a mirror, proding and pulling at his reconstructed face.*
Chakwas: Commander, if you don't mind me asking... Why did you opt for the procedure? Your scars would have healed in time.
*Shepard slowly turns his head to look out into the Mess Hall, seeing Tali standing with Garrus, the two friends laughing and joking about old times. Shepard sighs.*
Shepard: I want things to go back to the way the were. I don't want to look into a mirror and see how I failed everyone... How I failed her...

After seeing how Tali attacked Shepard when the mask came off, I don't think she'd be opposed to the idea.
I would not deny Tali any chosen pleasure.

Ooh I like. Kinda the opposite of my Shep who choses not to get rid of the scars out of a sense of... I guess, duty?

In my eyes...
He blames himself for the Alarei. He blames himself for Alchera. He blames himself for Virmire. He blames himself for Elysium. He blames himself for Mindoir.
I tried to get that sense of guilt across in Last Son. How, because of his failures, he strives to do better and always finds himself coming up short and that terrifies him. The idea that he can't save everyone. The idea that he could fail.
That's why he chooses to remove those scars.

very nice, Jones.
I always let my scars heal, they're usually done WAY before Haestrom anyway.
As for my renegon Femshep... she keeps the scars... she needs to be able to look into the mirror and see the monster that she is... and hate it.
Cool how something like that can add all kinds of new meaning...

*nods* I'm actually dealing with something similar in the chapter I'm almost done with. Effectively ultimate survivor's guilt, having lived through Akuze, Virmire, even coming back when he actually does finally die. Of course I'm using a healthy does of surprise and alcohol to mess him up more in this chapter

Anyone else like the idea of Shepard's translator shorting out and Tali trying to speak to him in Khelish while she sits in the Cabin trying to fix it with her omni-tool?
I highly approve.
I've actually taken to inventing quarian words on a whim. BUt I'm no linguist so might not make sense.

I'm sure Tali has a built in one what can change her output.

I simply have a lack of options.
I still don't understand what you intend to do. Working for Bioware doesn't make a whole lot of sense, as the only Bioware game you even like is ME. And in 5 years they won't even be making Mass Effect games.
Unless I misunderstood you yesterday

Tali: Khalad se ray ruoten ma... (This is alot harder than it looks...)
Shepard: What?
Tali: Nedas. (Nothing.)
Yes, I just invented that first part. Just needs to sound good.

I wouldn't be surprised.
Still, it would be kind of funny. Plus, you'd get to hear her own language.

He who writes the past, determines what will happen in the future because he determines the world that was, giving precedent for the world that is.
He who takes control of his own destiny, needs not live by the shackles of a future determined by the past.
Heh... shackles... <3

As far as we can tell, they seem to draw out their vowels often.
Keelah.
Zaal.
Reegar.
Beyond that, it's speculation.
