*Mari holds the bundle of cloth and plastic close her suitless body, the young girl she had given birth to staring at her with silver eyes. The door to the hospital room opens with a soft hiss as Shala enters.

Shala: How is she? Is she healthy?

Mari: She's fine. The doctors said she was a healthy weight and there were hardly any complications.

*Shala walks over to Mari's bedside, her three fingers pulling slightly at the cloth to get a better look at the baby inside her temporary bubble.*

Shala: She looks just like you.

*Mari shoots Shala a sardonic look.*

Shala: More or less.

*The two friends laugh as they look at the newborn, Mari turning her head to Shala.*

Mari: Is he here?

*Shala sighs.*

Shala: He's on the shuttle now. I don't know when he'll get here.

*A slight frown crosses her face before she turns back to her child.*

Mari: It's alright. Daddy is a very busy man, Tali.

Anyway moving on. After Watching a decent fire work show, I kind of wonder what Tali would think of such a show. Actually being able to see it first hand though through her suit.

It would be treated with the utmost care.

Extra steps would be taken to ensure that the child stays healthy and doesn't manage to contract anything.

Rael: I understand I'm not as attentive as I should be, but I have a duty to the Fleet. We all do.

Miranda's father was narcessistic at his very core.

Rael was selfless in his efforts to give Tali a home, ignoring the damage his absence did to her.

I think there's a significant difference there.

I think that's likely as well. For all we know, Tali's mother was the only one keeping Rael from diving completely into his work for the Fleet.

That's why I like Mordin's conversation about his nephew, the need to maintain a very personal connection even though his work leads him toward galaxy-turning events. Anyone that dedicated to the cause needs to remember who they're even doing it all for.
