A massive network or a Massive brain doesn't make one sentent, they still are about as intelligent as varren as tali put it, but for one to actually ask their overseer a question like Why am I alive, or Do I have a soul. That sounds like there was a little more programming there then was Engineered into them. I remember from previous Si-Fi stories that massive neural networks lead to at least animal level thinking, but it isn't till an outside force acts upon that intelligence that is comes to full sentience. The game Alpha Centerui comes to mind.

But it's not completely unheard of. If you listen to the recording Legion plays of them asking that, you know that they read about souls in the scrolls of the ancestors and became curious about it, thus becoming curious about themselves. It's not some huge leap in logic they made to get to sentience.

EDIT: Oh, hey, top of the page. I missed you.

Not revealing the evidence means nothing changes. Considering that the Admiralty Board being split on war is better than the Admiralty Board possibly deciding on war because they have a superweapon (Rael's research), I think that not revealing the evidence is safer.

I would also add that Rael has suffered enough. He and his team died.

Presumably, the Geth attack was by surprise. You might have data that can be used to create a super weapon, but if you are caught with your pants down...you know what happened to them.

While I don't recall the dialogue verbatim, I recall the logs on the Alerei giving a strong indication that success was imminent.

You make a very good point.

Speaking of the super weapon, Xen's message kind of worried me. Sounded like she wasn't only going to destroy the Geth with it, but bring the council races to their knees.

Makes me wonder what's going to happen to her in ME3. Probably goes out into the void like a dumb ass, get's in trouble, you save her, and can possibly woo her afterwards. She might be one for the renegades though.

While I would love the opportunity to screw space-Morrigan forwards, backwards, left, right, up, down, side to side, diagonally, at a tilt, sideways, this ways, waterways and highways....

It won't happen.

After working on Reckoning... I do hope I can at least paragon her...

She's going to be a villain if you disagree with her methods, but an ally if you do. That's my prediction.

That's hardly relevant.  A virus on this scale at 99% is completely useless, at 100%, you just wiped out billions of sentient lifeforms.  What was the science team supposed to do with an incomplete superweapon?  Throw OSDs at the geth?  The failure on the Alerei was because of the unexpected organization of the geth.  Come to think of it, it kind of parallels the Morning Wars.  The quarians on the verge of shutting down the geth, and the geth unexpectedly rise up and beat them.

Really, that right there should prove that they really should just give up on it.

Why can't renegade be "Do the right thing, just in a badass way" Instead of being evil? I would rather be a Clint Eastwood of the Galaxy than satan incarnate.

It's still pretty risky. The geth have a high adaptability.

Most of the time that's what happens. From my Renegade play-throughs, I've seen very few instances that actually count as "evil." Atleast, in ME2 that is...

Well that decision was kind of made for them now wasn't it

My initial point was that revealing the information is bad because it just gives the opportunity for it to restart up, which isn't good by any stretch of the imagination.  That info should be destroyed and completely forgotten, its not needed in this galaxy.

I'll talk sense into her via Paragon, make her see her wrongs, and she will be mine.

Tali is still the best though

It already is. There are a few extreme examples like killing Samara which skirt "evil," but for the most part Paragon/Renegade is not Good/Evil.

Yes but was drew their attention to even read that scroll, if their programmed to do manual labor their programming would have them ignore what is outside of their parameters. This is where I think where a small push could have started them on the path to enlightment.
