Cerberus is worse than the Council. IMO. The Council's actions may not produce the best results, but have they ever done something like experimentation on children? No. The genophage I can understand because many people saw the Krogan as being unrepeatable conquerors otherwise. And what was the experimentation on children for other than just to see how far human biotics can be pushed? That's much less defensible.

 

True but given how  Cerberus is  set up each cell operating  on its own with the other knowing what is doing 12 or more parent companies funding each operation.  Its no surprise the things like  Akuze and  Pragia happened and i have my theories that TIM  is not  top dog as much as he would like us to think when it comes to Private organizations  like  Cerberus their are always people pulling the strings mainly the Purse strings. 
 
To let an  entire Race wonder the stars for the 300 years  no offer of support or aid  hell at least give the regular medical supplies and food the fleet is over 17 million  they could establish there on community  in one of the  Wards the Citadel if even  they taken on 1/4 or one half its still better then what the situation is now.  

Either Cerberus is lying (which they have no fear of doing) or they are incompetent. Take your pick really - in my eyes - that makes them worse than the Council.

Eh,  I think Cerberus can do alot of good, and there core goal are worthy. They just need more supervision of there projects, be less ruthless, and have better management. Most of the projects that get out of hand seem to be given not boundries and asked to achieve virtually impossible goals in short time frames.

  Naw, that level of tease is unnecessary.  Sort of like the following (as an example, also for other convo relevance):

Shepard is holding a gun out in warning to Xen, she is moments away from completing her plan.  Dialogue has already started

Shepard: I can't let you do that Admiral.

Xen: And why not?  Think, for a moment.  I activate this program, and we will have the geth back unter quarian control, where they belong!  We will have our homeworld, we will have our place in the galaxy back.  We will be powerful.

Dialogue options
Paragon: Is that really what is best for the fleet?
Renegade: If they aren't weaker, I could use a good army of slaves.....
Upper Left: Salvery is wrong
Center: Will this help agains the Reapers?
Lower Right: I see your point.

From here, it is clear that all but lower right will continue the dialogue.  The next set of options should not however, include a Paragon or Renegade option.  That way, the dialogue can still be failed and combat would begin.

Something like that.    Unfortuantely, we just get the "Durr, ULB or LLR win the conversation".  A good example of this is the treason trial.  It should have been more like dealing with Morinth.   ULB or LLR to start the pationate speech, and then get options that you can use to attempt to sway the admirals.  Depending on which options you select, you can sway one or more.  If you talked to them, you get more options.  However, you are limited to 3 total choices before the dialogue wraps up (including rallying either Veetor or Kal). 

It would have been EPIC.

A scripted AI can do that with out become sentent. Have you ever wondered how Google or Yahoo gets a massive library of links that are considered revelent to a phrase? They use a small program called a webcrawler a program that finds all revalent data tied to a word. Then another program sorts it and files it away to speed up search results. So there is a difference between collecting data then it is to seek to understand it, this is what the geth went to; They actually sought out the understanding.

I know how they work, but that isn't an AI. It's a VI.

We're talking about billions of VIs networked together to gain understanding and a gestalt consciousness. That's an entirely different barrel of monkeys.

Yet it is suggested that their programming was not set up to actively seek understanding, they where upgraded to work on tasks with little to no input however this doesn't need to be programmed to understand it. This is why I think there was added programming, something the quarians wouldn't want to add in because that little piece of programming would ensure the Geth would reach Setentiance.
