Wow this thread is really moving along tonite now. Red did you read over my iteration of the Fast Battleship back on page 8748 or 8747? Also no repsonce to my theories in that "wall of text" Kira Shepard pointed out?
I can't make a real strong judgment on the design, as I don't know much about Laser Physics, and thus its hard to tell how useful the Thanix based weapons systems would be. I know the Normandy had it, but there is a big difference when you scale it up to BB size.
In the 3D battlefield of space, also, it would be easy to flank the BB by coming up beneath it, as it would take a while to turn. An inline Mass Accelerator is quicker to turn in that regard, because there is no "minimum traverse" for it.
But like I said, I can't really analyze it much with the laser platform.

What do you think some downtime is like on the Normandy2? Having all those volatile people on board must be something.
Nah.
Everyone's pretty chill.
If not, then they get a ****ing bullet in the head.
Pretty relaxed environment, if I do say so.
Hawthorne hate aside, I imagine all of the crew chosen for the Normandy are pretty open towards aliens. It wouldn't make sense to send xenophobes on a mission dealing mainly with aliens. They probably wouldn't all be on Kelly's level, but probably closer to that than the other end.

I can't make a real strong judgment on the design, as I don't know much about Laser Physics, and thus its hard to tell how useful the Thanix based weapons systems would be. I know the Normandy had it, but there is a big difference when you scale it up to BB size.

But like I said, I can't really analyze it much with the laser platform.
That is why there are Ventral mounted guns, Ventral in lamens terms means belly. As for Lasers their only point defence Thanix isn't laser based.
"Following the Battle of the Citadel, human and turian volunteers conducted a massive three-month survey effort to clear the station's orbit of debris. Secretly, the turian Office of Technological Reconnaissance "volunteers" were technology recovery specialists salvaging the main weapon of the geth flagship Sovereign, and large amounts of its valuable element zero core.
Contrary to popular belief, Sovereign's main gun was not a directed energy weapon. Rather, its massive element zero core powered an electromagnetic field suspending a liquid iron-uranium-tungsten alloy that shaped into armor-piercing projectiles when fired. The jet of molten metal, accelerated to a fraction of the speed of light, destroys targets by impact force and irresistible heat.
Only 11 months after the battle, the turians produced the Thanix, their own miniaturized version of Sovereign's gun. The Thanix can fire reliably every five seconds, rivaling a cruiser's firepower but mountable on a fighter or frigate. "
Furthermore using 2 Elemet zero cores instead of one larger one should create a larger more even mass effect fields allows better movement. Further Increase manuverablity going from Static thrust nossels to vector thrust would allow for better control and quick movement in space.
