We've done several. Even referanced Morrigan for Xen's suit design.

So. Much.

You are treading on my territory, Rip.

Anyways, the night is calling. I must go now.

Edit: What a wonderful instance to make a typo.

Ah yes, "Tali", the quarian machinist with a shotgun, allegedly sleeping with Commander Shepard.

We have dismissed that claim.

Yeah, they're all over the place.

Mostly referring to Morrigan.

Seemed appropriate.

Clarity is achieved when traditionalist idiots "officially" define a word. That Ir- makes it's root a double negative is immaterial in terms of definition, only in etymology. Definition is defined solely by use, not origin. As for being counterproductive in the english language, well, damn, have you actually looked at some of our literary mechanics? English is a god aweful mess.

As for my spelling errors, well, damn, I'm an idiot. Excuse me while I go beat my head against a wall for a bit more.

I find myself somewhat unable to follow what you're saying in that first sentence. If they're achieving clarity, why are they "traditionalist idiots", as you put it?

Also, you're outlining exactly why I make my point about the whole regardless debate. There's nothing to be had in changing around stuff that works fine and ignoring things that actually DO need cleaning up. Because, like it or not, you can call irregardless a word as much as you like, there are still plenty of people out there who don't recognize it as such and will make a point out of it. The fact that we're having this conversation at all is evidence of my point.

A day may come when everybody says irregardless and it's in every dictionary and published novels use it and nobody finds that odd at all. It wouldn't surprise me. That day is not today. Today, "irregardless" is firmly in the "people kept fucking it up so much that most people just let it slide now" camp.

I don't believe in changing things for no reason. If the change happens anyway, then I'm nobody to say "NO YOU CAN'T DO THAT". It hasn't happened anyway yet.

That was meant to be ironic, Rip (and I don't care what way you define it).

I couldn't care less about regardless or irregardless, or whatever else.

I just pulled out my own dictionary to see if that is the case, but it's not listed. Of course, this volume was published in 2006, so meh. Perhaps in something more recent.

I also looked it up on dictionary.com, which explicitly says it is a nonstandard use of the word regardless.

There. End of topic.

So. I hear you like Tali?
