Let me guess. You told Jack "no" when she asked if you had feelings for her, but you also said "Do we have a problem?" and the game acted like you romanced her (given the fact that she tells you to "**** off" if you don't return affections). That's what happened to me.
I do not understand the difference between saying "no" and saying "is there a problem" versus saying no twice.

Interesting to note that the game seems to treat the "It's too dangerous" not as a "let's wait and see" but as "it's over." I mean, it was pretty obvious anyway, but the dialogue is at least a little ambiguous otherwise.
Or on the Alarei, after Rael's message is played.
The Renegade option says : "The geth cut him off" and I always think: "No s**t, Sheplock..."
But it turns out that it's almost better than the Paragon option.
The dialogue options can be really confusing from time to time.

I found that some of the "paragon" options should have been neutral or renegade. For example, Mordin's loyalty mission - normally I don't think that calling someone a heartless monster is "paragon." I also found "Whenever you're ready. I'll be here for you." to be a lot more romantic tand sweet than the captain's orders comment in Tali's romance.Someone With Mass wrote...

It's actually quite a good thing. Edit: not the confusing part, but that the best option isn't always the upper one. Just wish it would have more impact on the persons, i.e. not able to romance Miranda if you're condemning everything Cerberus ever did and just being d*ck at her.
"Are you naturally this ****y, or is it just me" on the Minuteman station.

I think sometimes Paragon Shepard just ends up being hilariously idealistic and strangely morally superior.

ThunderTactics defined that kind of behavior as best as a Moronic Paragon.

I usually prefer to tell her to work on her attitude in her fight with Jack.
But the annoying part about the dialogues is that sometimes when I pick something, Shepard says something completely different that wasn't my intention.
The option says one thing when they really mean something similar, but isn't what I thought of when I chose it.

It's true, someone with mass. That's exactly the reason why I saved before conversations and wrote down what choices best suited my Shepard.

I just hope there won't be so many of these situations in ME3 too.
Trial and error isn't always fun. Especially when it's a long conversation and I pick the wrong option by accident about 3/4 into the conversation.

I also like the "Captains orders" line, but the way Meer says it makes it sound more creepy than playful.

My biggest complaint about ME 2 romances was the Jack/Miranda the **** was Juvenile and childish if could played my shepherd that why i wanted too i would shot them both for getting on my damn nerves. It was just a fight to get you to pick between the two human romantic interest. You who else thinks that Shepherd depending on his origins should have different conversation option like in Dragon Age... An Earthborrn Sol Survivor would have a different reaction then Spacer War hero
