Tali's dialog regarding Quarian immune systems.  Before they were confined to the fleet, they adapted readily to new environments - their systems were designed to tolerate external viruses and pollens, adjusting after a period of alergic reaction.

She says that on certain planets they did - but they ended up dying or getting sick anyway.

I don't recall that.  Cite, please.

Talk to Tali again.

As I recall, she says they got sick, but it was just a period of adjustment.  I don't know that it was life-threatening.  However, even this is going to slow down colonization.

That and dextro planets seem to be the minority.

The way she talks about colonizing other planets - and retaking the homeworld - during her loyalty mission - also implies that there will be casualties taken if they try to live on planets again without their suits.

Quarians specifically had their immune systems evolved to be weak to accommodate the "beneficiary" viruses in the Quarian homeworld. Tali says herself that the Quarian immune system sucks.

At least they had something there before.
300 years of adapting to nothing has left them with crap.

I've gotten tired of seeing people do it. Now I just sort of ignore it.

Its usually the other way around. People usually say no instead of Know....Guess I'm different.

Okay, I've got to put my ten cents worth into this discussion on the council.

Over throwing the council over abandoning the quarians three centuries ago? That is the worst decision I've ever heard.

Most of you guys grew up in North America and Western Europe, so you've been cozy enough that you can consider that someone else could do the job of running a nation better than the current leaders.

I'm an immigrant from South Africa and have been living in the States for over a decade. The most important thing I've learned is that the status quo is the greatest thing ever. Even your darkest days would be the golden age of South Africa. I'm talking about a nation that is the rape capital of the world and has one, if not the highest, rate of violent crimes in the world.

Now let's talk over throwing the council. First you would need to almost completely wipe out C-Sec and the Citadel fleet, because they aren't just going to stand by and let you or who ever you plan to instate run the council. Right there you just killed maybe a million C-Sec and military personal and in the process destroyed the wards at the same time.

So you've got your little government in place run by whoever you choose. Looks good doesn't it? It's not, after thousands of years of being run rather effectively by the council (the council has to at least be as efficient as the EU or the U.S. government) there are going to be plenty of people who will realize that for all it's flaws the council did a pretty damn good job at what it did. Now you're going to have underground revolution groups wanting to overthrow you. You're going to have to bring down an iron fist only making people hate you more and further agitating the public. It will get worse and worse and you'll realize that in your attempt to forcibly make the council pay for their past crimes, you've only made things worse.

Doesn't Tali say that their immune systems are weak because there are no bugs on their homeworld?

No, there are no insects for pollenation of the plants.
Their immune systems are weak because it is believed that the quarians and other animals of Rannoch fullfilled the role of the insects of earth.  They pollenated the plants.   Frisky little critters aren't they. :)

Sorta. Insects never evolved there and it just caused the Biosphere to work differently

Good post and very interesting. This is partly why I believe that overthrowing the Council leaders is a bad idea. In ME2, for instance, abandoning the council brews racial conflict, tension, and killings. That's just going to escalate. There will be resistance.

Then the show isn't over.

I was busy and nothing grinds my gears more than ungrateful citizens discussing plots to overthrow safe, secure, well managed governments.
