*Shepard fastens the magnetic clasps of his Blood Dragon
armor, Tali smiling under her helmet as the two prepare for the next mission.*

Tali: You know... Quarians had knights.

*Shepard turns to her before he place the helmet on his head, a smirk crossing
his face and genuine interest in his tone.*

Shepard: Really?

Tali: Mmhm... They wore armor, traveled Rannoch, did great deeds, slew
dragons...

*Shepard smiles as he walks over to Tali, his hand finding hers.*

Shepard: And did they woo maidens?

*Tali suppresses a giggle.*

Tali: Some. Those maidens would often give them a token, as well.

*Tali produces as long strip of cloth that matches the one wrapped around her
suit, tieing it around his arm. Shepard smiles as he looks at the cloth,
planting a kiss on the light of her voice modulator and bowing his head before
fastening his helmet to his armor.*

Shepard: M'lady...

I have saved most of the recent mini fics for just this reason

*Tali and Shepard share a seat in a bumper car, Shepard taking a quick right turn and pushing a krogan out of the way. Tali giggles as she shouts to be heard over the carnival's noise.*

Tali: This is so much fun!

*Shepard grins.*

Shepard: Yeah? Watch this.

*Shepard suddenly makes a full u-turn, hurtling onto incoming bumper car traffic.*

Tali: Shepard!

*Tali braces herself as Shepard dodges and swirves through the traffic, coming out at the end untouched. Tali opens her eyes as the cars slow to halt, laughing as they climb out of the bumper car.*

Tali: You bosh'tet!

*Shepard picks her up in a hug, the couple laughing as they exit.*

Tali: We should try that trick for real some time.

Yet another!


*Tali stirs from her blissful sleep, the exertions of last night leaving her the happiest she has ever felt. A soft hiss is heard as the door to the Cabin opens, Shepard carrying a tray and wearing full armor. Tali sits up on the bed, still without her suit.*

Tali: Shepard?

Shepard: Morning. I... uhh... I made you something.

*Shepard walks around to the side of the bed, setting down the tray to reveal a collection of exotic turian food.*

Shepard: I hope you like it... I had to do a whole lot of research before I found a few things that wouldn't wreak havoc on your digestion. Had to clear out the Mess Hall and disinfect the whole place as well as the elevator. Even cooked wearing my armor.

Tali: Shepard... You really didn't have to do all of... this.

Shepard: I wanted to. I want this to be the best hours of our lives before we hit that Relay. C'mon, try it.

*Tali picks up a spoon, reveling in the feel of the metal utensil on her bare flesh, before gingerly taking a spoonful of a spicy red soup. Her eye's widen at the bitter taste.*

Shepard: Is it good?

*Tali nods slowly, holding the mouthful of soup in her mouth before swallowing it around her tongue.*

Tali: It's... good.

*Tali stands in the bathroom of the Captain's Cabin, running a toothbrush along her teeth, irritated at the chore she had lived without her suited life. Leaning forward and examining her gums, Tali can see the sensitive flesh bleeding.*

Tali: Bosh'tet...

*Tali sees Shepard enter the bathroom, coming up behind her to look in the mirror.*

Shepard: Problem?

*Tali grunts in frustration.*

Tali: I don't know how... I just end up hurting myself...

*Shepard smiles as his hand drifts to her, his five fingers overlapping her three as he guides the brush into her mouth, moving it slowly and gently across the surface of her teeth.*

Shepard: For someone as cleanly as you...

*Tali's silver eyes glare at Shepard.*

Shepard: Right. Sorry.

*Tali takes to her knees as she runs a hand along the black granite slab of the Mindoir Memorial, her fingers touching the names of Shepard's parents.*

Tali: Blessed are the ancestors who have enabled us to reach this season.

*Tali's hands leave the wall as she looks up to their names. A deep sigh echoes from her voice modulator.*

Tali: There are so many things I wanted to ask you... I'm not even sure where to start. I would have loved to have met you both. I can't tell you how much he means to me. He has done so may great things and he has stood by my side every step of the way. I think you would be proud of him. I... I don't know if you would approve of me... I hope you do. I... I think I love him. I only hope you can look on us with favor.

*Tali bows her head.*

Tali: Keelah Se'lai.

GSF = Ghost of Shepard's Father GSM = Ghost of Shepard's Mother

GSM: She seems like a nice girl for our boy.  I think she'll make him happy

GSF: Maybe.  He's a scrapper, and he'll have some fights on his hands defending her honor.

GSM: Just like you did for me when they called me a hillbilly, darling

GSF: (Laughs).  We were quite a couple.  And we lived fully.  Too short, though.

GSM: Some don't get that long...but our boy and Tali can make each other happy.

GSF: There will be some tears, too...

GSM: That's what life is about.  The feelings you have, the feelings you share.

GSF: Well, you want to do a little ghostly blessing?

GSM: Oh, lets!

The two ghosts drift close to Tali.  An odor of rose petals fills the air, both inside the
helmet and outside.  And, for a moment at least, Tali feels surrounded by affection.

The moment passes as the ghosts drift off to other places...
