Sweet, I look forward to it. But please, don't make shep/tali get married... It just feels so cheap.

I haven't really even planned anything for beyond the end of the game. *shrugs*
Some sort of marriage or bonding ceremony could be in their future, but if it is I can't forsee it being soon. It seems like something that would wait until afte r the universe was saved.
I will say if its done well it can be an emotional moment, done poorly it just doesn't make sense.

I thought it ended well enough. The last person responsible for Rin's death was gone, Shepard prevented David from giving into a need for revenge and to find some sort of peace.
It's really the best you can hope for in that story.

QFT.

It was the best outcome that story could have. As in with the plot and with the writing. Some sappy, happy ending with everyone living happily ever after would have been just so... yeah.

It was hardly a happy ending, especially with the whole 'rin got raped and died' thing... It would have been a better ending if David died, and their was a scene like in 'ghosts of onyx' the halo novel. Sorry for not using quote box's, but I can't use the standard form on my phone.

I have to agree. It feels...I don't know a good word to describe it with, so I'm going to go with cliché. A bad cliché.

I think he means if its just a throwaway plot device. Just a 'hey, they're in love so they go and get married because Shep proposes'.
I think Calin dealt with this well. In his fic Shepard does in depth research on quarian practices instead of just going about it human style, and there is an extremely large lead up to him actually taking action on the desire. It added a great deal of weight to the whole situation.

@TTTX I feel that whenever someone writes a happy marriage into a story it kind of kills it, in the same way that a happy ending would have killed drifting (no matter how much I want it to).

Obviouy there's a way to insert a marriage into a story without it feeling overly perfect, but it's hard to do.

Out of curiosity, how many of you want bioware to write a Tali/Shep marriage into the plot of ME3?

I trust Bioware to do a good job of writing, so I wouldn't have a problem with it. But its not something I'd actively want.

It would only make sense if there was a very strong social structure to the quarians that made marriage extremely significant and important part of their culture. We've seen no evidence of this, so it seems unnecessary.

I see no problem with them simply being lovers. Honestly the one love interest that makes the MOST sense for a wedding is Ashley Williams. She seemed to be fairly traditional.

I would not mind but i would have to be done correctly  and not just a throw away plot devise.  I would like too see some more  Quarian costumes than  human tradition...

Personally, I found Sensations to be far, far worse (as in sad) than Drifting.

Even if I want it to happen, I doubt it's going to, because if Tali can get married, but the other LIs can't, there will be blood.

It's just unfair to the rest of them.

I'm not against it, though. If BW can write it in a good and believable way, but still make it so the other LIs aren't left behind in the shadows (again) then I think it's okay. But just that. Okay.

I want good ending but not a marriage, it's everywhere. "They got married and live a happy life..."
I want something unusual :innocent:

It could, but because of the rather bias view of the writer, the whole marriage thing will be... I dunno, sickly sweet is probably the best way to describe it.

I don't think we'll see it.

Like something that would only happen in a bad Hollywood-flick.

It's a little too much happiness at once.

Pls link this 'sensation' story, I want to know how you can get sadder than 'Mu girlfriend got raped and killed'.

I honestly don't have a huge problem with some highly 'sweet' scenes in a story like this, simply because the amount of violence and tragedy that occur.
Too often I think people get into one rut or the other. Everything is too perfect or every moment is a struggle against adversity.
Give the characters a moment of honest happiness. It makes their motivation to keep going when things goto hell all the more believable.
