I always play engineer, because I feel it's like a really smart Shepard, rather than gun nut Soldier, or Sam Fisher Infiltrator, or whatever. I feel like an engineer can relate with Tali and my Shepard spends most of his time working in engineering and talking with Tali.

I play as an Infiltrator because 1) I love to snipe, and 2) I like to be a sneaky bastard.

Reason (2) for me.  I think that the skill set is only going to be more important in future conflicts.  Especially in terms of ruining the day of an otherwise strong enemy.

The blinks were probably really sad they wandered into Shep's adopted neighborhood that day on Elysium.

Personally play Vanguard anymore...It's more for a preference for the Charge and the fact I wanted a melee class.

When I first saw Kasumi in action, I expected the Shadow Strike to be her loyalty power and I thought that it would work just great with my Infiltrator.

Man, was I disappointed when I unlocked that flashbang.

Speaking of sneaky...

Reasons to play an Infiltrator for me has always been:

1) I like to play skill/combat balanced classes. Those tend to be "rogue" types for the most part.

2) Sniping is fun. In a game where there are rarely any melee enemies there is little to no reason to put yourself in that kind of danger. (ie Vanguards suck)

3) Utility powers! Incinerate is awesome, as is Disruptor ammo. AI Hacking isn't as useful in not synthetic/geth missions but a godsend otherwise. All you need is Warp Ammo or some biotic ability and you're the most well balanced class in the game after the Sentinel.

4) I like the idea of being able to talk shop with Tali

I play infiltrator because it most matches with my real world skill set.

I am jealous of your sharpshooting ability.
How useful it would be under different circumstances.

Actually I like the disruptive effect of the flashbang. Few points in it, and if you're in a tight spot, you can overheat enemies weapons with it.

F-yeah, warp ammo.  I've heard Area Reave is a cruel thing to do with Infiltrators, too.

Reave is alright but it messes with my cloaking timer. Cryo Ammo for squadmates with no ammo ability (usually just Tali). Incinerate takes care of armor.

The first time I used it, I expected it to behave like the way it does for Kasumi.

Then I used it. A small ball fell out of my omni-tool and landed a few feet away from me, and I thought: "OH, SHI--*Bang* Damnit, I knew it was too good to be true!"

This is the problem with Inferno Grenade, too.  I was all set to love that thing until I found out how hard it was to use properly.  Oh well, just have to take Zaeed along instead.

Since we're on the topic of Infiltrator's (*super brofist*), I've always noticed how most fanfics deal with Shepard as though he's some sort of techno-noob soldier. Obviously we each have our own stories to tell, thats the awesome part about RPGs, and I've always figured my Infiltrator Shepard could follow Tali in most tech conversations. I figured they both could hack geth/robots and doors, Tali just does it better and she can rebuild a drive core in her sleep.

Are those fanfics ones with Tali in them? Because I can see making Shepard a techno-noob to highlight Tali's own expertise with it.

I haven't really noticed it with other fanfics I've read.

Just something I've noticed from most Fanfictions. Yeah they tend to be Tali stories, so perhaps its just to highlight her abilities.

I think because an Inflitraitor and  Engineer are two completely types in the tech spectrum.    Like a brain surgeon and Heart Surgeon.  Each could  would understand each other because they are in the same field but specializations are different

On  gets past it with out being seen the other takes it apart put it back together and uses it.

So with so many Infiltrators around here, is anyone considering getting the new DLC that came out today?

I never understood the point of the Inferno Grenade when Incinerate Blast worked better in every way

I'm thinking of it. But I've heard that it's better suited for Vanguards. That's great news for me, because I'm in the middle of a Vanguard-playthrough. Image IPB

I wasn't that interested in the armor, but the Incisor Sniper Rifle.... I've wanted that thing for a long time.

I suppose Inferno Grenade is one way to give Shepard something like Incinerate since it's a bonus power. I wouldn't take it aside from a strictly roleplaying sense, though. I like other bonus powers a lot more.

I've heard about that nice little glitch that made it so your squad mates had the same amount of DPS with the Incisor as you. I think it's fixed now, though.

Yea my main Shep and thereby the Shep in my fic is an Infiltrator. But he's a soldier first and foremost, so his skill set is much more specific than Tali's, especially since he's become the leader of a team. Hence you see him doing more shooting, less teching.
