Delivered!

Let's just say that, hypothetically, during or after the events of ME3, Tali is offered a position as an Admiral. Do you think she would accept? If she does, what does that mean for her relationship with Shepard?

Well, my Tali is exiled, but i would say she would probably do it.  It is for the good of the flotilla, and as she says "if you don't think about the needs of the whole crew, people could get hurt, mabey even killed".

I don't doubt it would be a hard decision for her, she loves shepard, but the flotilla takes priority.

How did you guys pull that off?

I dont only focus on either paragon or renegade, i actually make the decisions i would make, so not enough of either of those.  And unfortunately, Reegar died, he couldn't hold out long enough...very sad. So no 'rally the crowd' option for me.  So she was exiled, not that she cared

hey Sergio are you planning to write out a fanfic regarding Shep origin? Really liked that minific you had going there.

I don't have any plans on it. Although I do like the whole concept of Tali and Shepard 'meeting' earlier than ME1 and not realizing it.

For a while now I've been brewing ideas for a "ME3 speculation" fanfic; I even got like a rough overview of it down. Not sure if it'll ever come into fruition though; it's somewhat of an ambitious project. I don't expect it to end up anything like ME3 actually will, but if I can get people to go "I can totally see that happening", that'll be enough to make me happy. :)

Gotta do some research on dark energy; Haestrom's sun, or whatever is causing its decay, is absolutely going to be a major part of ME3's plot.

I have a question:

When you have bad squad leaders for the first fire team the cutscene is sometimes different, like I think Mordin has them coverfire the wrong door or something. Besides the obvious specialist death is there anything different about the Tali as a squad leader cut scene?

As much as I like Tali ... she's not much leadership material.

I agree, which leads me to believe that she's mostly been suggested as an admiral because of being "famous" and because of being an important admiral's daughter.

Perhaps its mandated by Quarian law that once your offered the position, one cannot turn it down?

If she's already exiled to begin with, I hardly think that she's still bound by their laws, not to mention it makes her less likely to care (the government pretty much used her for their own gains, and she got exiled, not a good image for the Quarian government). And if she's not exiled, she's still with Shepard, I doubt they're going to send the fleet just to get Tali as an admiral.

not. nothing like that. I just wanted to instil a sense of shock for Tali... when someone close died this is how i acted, i kept on going back to I will never see her again she is really dead. This is what i was basing it off of, but i think it was taken differently by everyone...

That's what I think. Even if she's exiled, they have pretty strict rules (besides the no death penalty part) about their duty to the fleet. Kal'Reegar is especially patriotic. I imagine all Quarians are at the every whim of their government.

The Admirals serving are more democatrically elected than inherited as far as the position goes, right? Maybe they just "think" she'll be good based on her dad but they'll end up with some other Quarian.

I have to disagree with Tali for sure accepting being an admiral. She could conceivably do it, but she would not do anything the Quarians ask of her. We already know that by how she badmouths the Admirals - at least Qwib Qwib guy, and asks Shepard to essentially lie to the board. She's annoyed at Quarian politics. She's dedicated to her people, not the government.

well then that just means Tali will be part of the squad then =]
I truly believe Tali will be squad mate no doubt about that.

Hmmm...I think the tricky part is that not everyone has had someone really close to them die before.  If you were writing from a genuine life experience, then I commend your strength and am sorry for your loss.

One of the things I'm noticing as I'm getting more into writing and artwork is that...the audience needs to be able to interpret the scene almost exactly the same as the artist who wrote it.  I think that it will take some practice for you to find the proper balance between your experience and a relatable or...shall we say "imaginable" experience for your audience, as that seems to be the barrier here.

which is why she might take it. if they ask her, it is for the good of the entire flotilla. and she would never do anything to hinder the quarians

You're asking Talimancers what the scene is for choosing Tali as a squadleader? :P

(also brings to mind a question: Tali as squad leader = Tali death or other squaddie death? I wouldn't know since...I don't fail)

i dont think they are rushing it.  I think they had a story already in mind as they worked on ME2, so they are just building off those foundations.  They are likely putting more resources toward this game now though, and less toward other projects they may have.

Makes sense. This calls for an epic moment in ME3.

And that being said, I don't care how long it takes for the release, whatever it takes for it to be the perfect end to the trilogy :innocent:
