What are your feelings on the Wing Commander movie?

"Wing Commander" is actually a fun little cliche' space war movie that just happens to have NOTHING to do with the game it shares several names with.  Good, brainless popcorn movie once you properly divorce it from the original source material.

As a Wing Commander movie, it's astonishing how the creator of the game could have done it SO badly.  I have to presume that he just wasn't prepared for a theatrical production and the compromises he was forced to make snowballed until it had no resemblance to what he had originally planned.

(And THOSE OPENING CREDITS!  They inspired SUCH HOPE, only to be cruelly crushed in the next few minutes...)

I thought the first was better for the scares, but at best all I ever got was a "huh, didn't expect that." The second game, I actually did feel worried about being raped.

Probably, that or enlightened her on how incompetent they can be. She didn't seem to think that highly of them on Haestrom.

Heh. After Mass Effect, it's sometimes hard to play other shooters. They can feel hollow and meaningless. Because I enjoy the dialog option customization of Mass Effect far too much.

I did get plenty of playtime from Perfect Dark on XBLA though. Though the only reason I bought that was because of the nostalgia.

Before or after she found out what he was up to?

In a weird way, I think she probably really looked up to and relied on him.  You don't have to really be happy with someone to make them central to your life.
