I did. Made me a shell of a man at first, then I realized what she got in the end, thus making the relationship that more special.

Like a devine intervention of a sort.

Col. Vanek was awesome.  I also enjoyed the struggle with Keegan.  For the completely unwanted affections of Alma.

I'm not sure if that was some awesome scripting (because how often would be actually do that for full scripting to be worth it), or just a lucky AI decision, but it scared me like no other game.

Unless of course you count Condemned.  That game is a masterpiece of horror.  Don't even get me started on the Gym teacher in the locker...

Friendship is such a strong word.

I prefer to think of us as two people who simply haven't killed eachother yet.

"Friendship?" when did this happen? I prefer to keep the personal level as minimal as possible.

Meh.

Suit yourself.

If you want the reason, it's because I find that most writers (and no, this isn't talking about you, because I haven't read any of your work) do not get the characters correct. They can get the surface, but almost never what's beneath. The last fanfiction I skimmed through that involved Tali had Tali as a crying little girl. Give me a break. I also see a lot of self-insertion in fanfiction and wish projection on characters. Given the amount I like the characters in ME, I don't want to read something that is OOC.

Zombie rape.
That's what I was afraid of in Fear2.

F-YEAH!  I loved that game, too!  It's like Call of Cthulhu crossed with CSI crossed with Bumfights!

I still need to play that game.

Resident Evil 5 was fun, but not at all scary.
Dead Space was fun, too. It actually had its charms.
Silent Hill: Homecoming was okay.

You know, I was going to make a snide comment about "too cool for school!" or something.  But then I got to thinking.  You like discussion, right?  Well, not everyone thinks real quick on their feet or particularly likes the confrontational tone that some discussions can take.  Some people work out their issues, or state their case, or come to an epiphany, or whatever by themselves in the form of a narrative.

You want to be open to discussion, be open to reading any form a person's opinion might take.  Or, at least avoid casual dismissal.

Edit: and reading your above, sure.  But that's generalizing.

Really.  The atmosphere is so.... I can't even explain it.  You got a serial killer, a city falling apart, and CSI-y stuff galore.

Comes back from the dead.
Has 12 companions in ME2.
A lot of his contemporaries think he's crazy.
Yep he fits the bill.

Yeah.

If you want my opinion on what Tali think of Rael and the Admiralty... read the Noir...

You'll get more than you bargained for...

Heh. Read my response to Rip about why I don't read fanfiction. It's not that I'm "too cool" for them.

And the combat was great too.  I think it was one of the first to really get melee combat right.  It just felt so brutal, and they didn't have arcade-y "combos".
