Poor Kaiden. Always second fiddle to an alien.NCLanceman wrote...
I replayed ME1 to... reconstruct an old save where I'd romanced Ashley and build a FemShep where I'd romanced Kaidan. Not rushing to judge or anything, but Kaidan's probably getting dumped for Garrus at the first sign of "BAWWWW CERBERUS, YOU TRAITOR! YOUR 90+% PARAGON SCORE MEANS NOTHING!" You know, just like Ash got dumped for some engineer i'm sure you've never heard of.
Mmmmm, delicious drama.
Edit: You know, I think he's actually the one who got the short end of things in ME2. I can see Ash being a hothead on Horizon. Liara wasn't developed enough in ME1 to say whether or not her lunacy in ME2 is out of character.
But Kaiden? Dude was so low-key it's just weird to see him getting all angry on Horizon.

Damn you, Doctor Chakwas! If only you'd had a romance path and more dialogue in the first game! Choosing between you and Tali might actually be a challenge!

I prefer none of them. Ash screams that military stereotype and Jacob is just boring. And he has passive suicidal tendencies.
Nah, I want someone exciting and exotic. Like Tali and Garrus.

It's true! I have to wonder what exactly he saw in Josephina Shepard though.
Kaidan: So... Noveria. This looks... nice. Can I come along?
Shepard: Oooh... no. Liara wanted to talk to her mother -kind of like ice skating uphill- and Garrus knows how to use an assault rifle... unlike you.
Kaidan: Oh. Well. Maybe next mission. *sulks*
Shepard: Oh, Kaidan, don't be like that! I... like. you. You and your... hair. It's just you're not use-...
*Kaidan stares at Shepard. Shepard finds a particularly intresting bulkhead. Awkward silence*
Shepard: *tossles Kaidans hair* See you later!

Liara turning into her mother wasn't a terrible suprise for me, actually. Ash... well, Ash wasn't out of charcter, really. It's just sad that she -of all people- would think that Lanceman!Shep -who is almost goddamn Captain America if it wasn't for him actually pulling a gun on Conrad- would betray anyone. Ever.
Kaidan? Well, it's always the nice ones, isn't it?

Funny story: I was unfortunate to see some eye-scarring (but exotic) things from the Garrus thread's "folder". But at least I got this out of the deal:Someone With Mass wrote...

True Story: When I first played Mass Effect, I knew there were female love interests (EDIT: but I didn't know who they were). So I tried going after Tali. After that didn't go anywhere -even after the geth data!- I tried for Doctor Chakwas. Don't look at me like that, I have a thing for voices.
Besides, you know that thing about her joining the Alliance for the chance to work on soldiers with piercing eyes and sensitive souls? Paragon Shepard all the way, baby.
