With the patch (and my import bonuses) it is possible to front-load all of the mining before delving into the meat of the game.

I do the Alchera, Firewalker, Zaeed, and Kasumi missions, mining out the clusters on the way and I have all the resources I need for the rest of the game.

On one of my Soldier playthroughs, I've mined the entire galaxy. Every gas giant, every brown dwarf and even some populated planets.

Don't know what to do with all those minerals though...

But still I think that Geth Quarians and the Geth Megastructure will be important part of ME3
I can imagine that the Geth when all will be in that structure will be something similiar to Reaper.

Now that you mention it, probably a "PICK ONE!" confrontation like in Wing Commander 3...

I have a feeling that Tali might die in ME3..And im not just saying that. I have valid reason to believe so. I think that in ME3, it will come down to Shepard picking between the Geth and the Quarians, and for BOTH parties to be happy, Tali might need to be sacrificed.

How many hours you did waste on that? 

After my first playthrough, I used the save editor on other playthroughs to give me huge amounts of minerals and credits. It let me focus on the playing much better.
