I never said they weren't guilty, I'm just saying that the quarians don't even see their own guilt in the equation.

Koris does.  You're generalizing.

I may also add that - IIRC, Admirals are elected by the people. I could be wrong, but that's what I seem to be remember. So unless Korris never spoke about his views pre-election, than he was elected despite his pro-geth views. That seems to imply that not all Quarians think that the geth were the only ones at fault.

I also recall Tali saying that the Geth were a mistake in ME1. Can anyone confirm that?

Admirals are not elected. It's the military. The Admirals are the top ranking military officials. One for every 10,000 ships.

It's true, but Tali (understandably) seems to be excusing the Quarians from their guilt. The Quarians had a hand in this. The Geth had a right to defend themselves. What makes the Morning War not a black and white issue is the fact that AI was illegal and that the Geth nearly comitted genocide on the Quarians themselves. They are both at fault for not even attempting to communicate peace.

The issue in this statement is that the Geth did not think "genocide", they came to the conclusion that the Quarians would continue to fight back. If you are locked in a battle with someone, and you have no way of knowing EXACTLY how they are going to respond to you laying down arms (and the worst case scenario, along with being probable, in that situation is the Quarians utilize that instance to shut them down for good),

That doesn't excuse the Geth from killing women and children. Which they did. Which is unexcusable.

there is no way in heck I am going to stop and say "hey let's talk this out" while the other side is still intent on killing me.

That's your problem. I certainly would. Nothing is going to change if I don't try to communicate with them. The war will just keep going.

Technically, he was one of the first Quarians besides Tali we saw. And the Quarians don't exactly have the best record in the galaxy. They are known for being beggars and thieves, and probably because it's true sometimes.

Stereotyping seems to be the case. Most of the quarians we meet seem to be reasonable enough, often caught in a bad situation, but not because of them causing trouble.

You meet bad people, you will likely associate.

Yeah, Koris' views don't exist in a vacuum.  I'm sure his ideas have their adherents.  I think election is implied, BTW.

And yes, it's one of the few non-pro-quarian things she says in ME1, I think.

"We made a mistake in creating the geth in the first place." were her exact words.

Thank you Kira.

Huh.  I missed this, is it in the codex?

How does this jive with Tali's name being advanced as a candidate for Admiralty?

Maybe the Quarians did make a mistake in trying to shutdown all Geth. But think about it, can you honestly say you wouldn't react the same way if a machine started asking if it had a soul? I'd be pretty frightened.

The Geth are ultimately to blame though. They are sapient but they are still just machines. The deaths of a billion Quarians out weighs the deletion of a trillion Geth programs.

So a program, regardless of whether or not it can think, live, interact, and perhaps feel, is still a program in your eyes?

Are you seriously confined to such a pedantic ideology?

Not that Tali was particularly paragon in ME1.

I actually loved this. To bits. I liked the edge she had over Kaidan and Liara. Conversely, though, I like that she is the most paragon out of the ME2 squad.

Putting value in life like that is very irresponsible.

The fact is, both sides are right, both sides are wrong.

And they're ALL idiots for not at LEAST sending messages to eachother, for going CENTURIES without trying to talk it out.

As I said. Things will have changed by the end of 3.

Many people seem to forget how martial the Migrant Fleet is. I thought the Admiralty Board was a good enough hint.

I think this whole "quarians vs geth" thing is overrated. What's done is done. Only thing we can do is learn from the mistakes and move on.

And I'm all for peace, by the way.

I've been meaning to do a Kasumi story were she tells tali about a group of thieves she worked with once that pull off robin hood like schemes and is lead by, you guessed it a quarian.:wizard:

Fair point, but given the fact that this is an alien culture we're talking about, nothing is exactly certain when comparing it to our own culture. Especially given the unique situation that the Quarians are in.

A living being with emotions > A walking talking toaster with a gun.

But yes, things will change in ME3.
