Legion can answer a question in the blink of an eye.CptSkull wrote...
Legion is made of 1000s of Geth and they can talk to each at the speed of light.

Similar issue here. There is no hive civilization in reality (our reality). It's harder to judge something that does not actually really exist as far as we know. Define "hive civilization" and I'll give it a shot.Pacifien wrote...
Well, would you then place the Geth collective on the same status as a hive civilization?Collider wrote...
Legion is really the only example of "a" Geth. Geth operate very differently from humans. It is therefore that I cannot really place them on the same status. Especially since there is literally nothing analogous to the Geth-Organic debate on earth. I have very little to base things upon that are grounded in reality.

Nah. Never got that interested. After Electric Sheep I kind of got into this phase where I started reading controversial books. Things that put the reader in a position to judge either the character or a species as a whole (E.G. A Clockwork Orange by Anthony Burgess). After that, I kind of stopped reading for a while.

Holy hell, Legion got placed at the top of page 9000.
Tali is disappointed.
More like regular novels. And they're in line with the movie.Ryshan wrote...
How so?

I don't have one. Like I said, these debates aren't really grounded in reality. It's dealing with completely fictional stuff. We can barely even get robots to walk as a human would right now.RiptideX1090 wrote...

You tell me, Rip. Give me a definition for life.RiptideX1090 wrote...
The geth do not want to die.
Does that not constitute life?
I decide I am alive.
What is your definition?
Like I said an dwhat I hope you are implying, they cannot be judged in the same manner. An amoeba is fundamentally different from a human, for example. No gets to hung up about killing bacteria, despite bacteria (most of the time?) being defined as life. Of course, like I said, I am not comparing the Geth or Humans to bacteria. Just illustrating the core differences.Azint wrote...
The geth are machines, no sense in arguing otherwise. They are no alive, they can be broken, taken apart, rebuilt, and work along the lines of software. However, they are clearly articulate, they think for themselves, they react to outside events, the geth may even be developing emotions if you take into account some of Legion's reactions. When people try to compare geth to living beings, it does not work because the geth are machines.
They are that different, but does being different make them any less? Organic life is alien to them, they are unsure of how to approach because they are aware of their condition.

Legion is better than Tali ever will be.
