My perspective on this matter is warped by having lived through one, so I've probably got a somewhat different view.

This all comes back down to whether or not we can see Shepard ever settling down.

Dunno about you guys, but my Shep told Grunt he didn't want to be doing this forever.

You Shepard can talk all he wants, fate will still find him.

Would you call it an "unfair advantage"?

For some reason, I just don't see any of the potential love interests getting married.

Good point, just thought Jack was the least "fitting" of all. Besides the possible issues with interspecies marriages.

True that, but there's still the intent.

Mine did to. With the way I play him and the back story I've given him, Shepard is a bit of the 'reluctant hero'. He saves lives and defends the weak because his honor and duty compelled him to, not always because he wanted to.

My Shep would probably be looking forward to the years he can put the life of constant danger behind him for something a little simpler. At least, until, he realizes how boring it is. I can see Tali and himself occasionally going out for a bit of adventure every now and again to re-live some of the past glory. ^_^

There is an option of telling Grunt that Shepard doesn't want to fight all his life? Interesting. I never found that. It may be an indication that the player may be able to "choose" what Shepard does after saving the world from the "great evil," ala Dragon Age.

Have you ever see the show, The Big Bang Theory?

People say my personality is like Sheldon's, in that I'm hard to deal with because of existing personal proclivities.

Gotta clear the way for the next generation of heroes, you know.

They could do a dragon-age-esque "and this is what happens down the road" ending in which they show the results your actions had on the universe.

Not that I support that...

For ME, I would prefer a more ambiguous ending were some things are hinted at and the rest is left to imagination.

Hopefully we are given some choice as to what Shepard does after the galaxy is saved from the Reapers. If not, I may prefer something vague. I do not envision my Shepard dying from some battle while serving the Alliance.

I definitely prefer vague.  I want my story to be able to end the way I want it.  Plus I know I would hate any set ending they gave me <_<

Or they could just dump us to a splash screen like in ME1.

Well, I'm the sort of Grey Warden who rebuilds the order in Ferelden, to leave Alistair in charge of it while I continue my journey. I'm the sort of Shepard who will always remain at arms, as a sign of vigilance.

Brilliant! They're leaving the ending up to the player's imagination SO MUCH that you don't get any kind of ending AT ALL!

It probably depends on where they want to go with the IP after ME3.  If they want to play around with different characters near the same timeframe, they may leave it vague.  Thus you could still run into the squaddies, (OR SHEPARD OMG) while playing the new story arc(s).

I agree with that. I still want a scene at the end of the game with Shepard and his/her LI though. Just as a nice touch to the ending.

That did kind of irritate me about ME1.  Then again, it wasn't the end of the story, so...
