No, there isn't much to the effect.  Though her commentary on Jack's mission is quite motherly.

Which brings me to the question. Given how famous and popular Shepard will probably be made (there was a lot of that in ME2...), my Shepard would have all the more reason to try to fall under the radar as much as possible. He (like CannedCreams's shepard IIRC) is more of a "relunctant hero" who is doing these things basically because he has to.

I actually was tearing up during Toy Story 3, which surpassed Wall-E where I only had a mild incentive to cry.

Wall-E nearly broke me down emotionally. The only other movie that came that close before or since has been Green Mile.
But I've yet to see Up or TS3.

I have never been in a theater with so many young adults sobbing, young adults that were about my age. It was especially moving because I did grow up with the franchise,  I remember the toys and films when I was the appropriate age.

I would say it is their best film.

Not necessarily in a bad way, but. . . there is zero chance of normalcy there.

Any kid of Shep's has little to no chance of normalcy.

Yeah, but throw Jack into that equation and. . . I don't even wanna think about it.

Maybe that kid in the 2nd Mass Effect book is Jack's kid.

One of the invocations Shala'Raan makes during the start of the trial is a direct word-for-word translation of a Jewish prayer.

I did not know this.  Very clever.  They sort of have had a Passover and Exodus, haven't they?

They kind of do, though I think their story is far more Battlestar Galactica than Old Testament. That being said, I think the Jewish angle was incorporated to give them more of a cultural flavor. It fits with the Eastern European accents exhibited by Tali/Shala/Rael and a few of the NPC Quarians.

If you're interested, this is the prayer:

Never hit me emotionally.  I did find Eve's emotions well expressed by her eyes though.  In that she used them like a complete face.

Try Miranda on for size instead and tell me family life would be any less weird.

Yes, people still use the library.

I almost never buy books:  I never read stuff more than once, usually.  I just have a few treasured books I have to own, like HPL's stuff.  Everything I read at the library.

Jules Verne, Mark Twain, Lewis Carroll, Poe, Isaac Asimov, and Lovecraft are the ****.

Good to hear. I was worried when I heard about TS3, that it would be a crappy cash-cow film that would butcher my fond memories. Nice to know that it holds up.

My Shep wanted off the streets, only to find that it was almost more messed-up out in the galaxy.  He'd love the chance to kick back.

The critics have certainly been praising the movie. Though how much that matters depends on how much stock you put into their opinions.

Like I said, Wall-E was the previous champing for nearly making me tear up. So little dialogue, yet you could feel the romance. Wall-E was a beautiful film for many reasons.

No worries - it's nothing a Gentile would catch, which is probably why Bioware thought they could get away with it, lol. Non-Jews wouldn't notice it, and the few Jews who did would just smile quietly and appreciate the nod.

For Cpt... imagine Vanguard or Adept Shepard (who is supposed to be a stronger biotic than Kaidan) having a kid with Jack. That baby's going to be shooting singularities as soon as it's out of the womb. :D

And my Shep sees a galaxy unwilling to take the actions necessary for survival.

Same, although Colonist Shepard. Saw his family killed by slavers, joined Alliance as a result. Lost his team on Akuze. After all all the Reaper business is over, I think he would be tired of fighting. At least in the literal sense. Assuming that the Quarians reenter the galactic scene, it's plausible for him to help the Quarians in some way adjust to their new life.

Even Zaeed of all people opened his creaking heart during Jack's loyalty mission.

Zaeed is the "canon" squadmate for Jack's loyalty mission as far as I'm concerned.

Agreed. The trailers never did it justice.

At the end there, when Eve touched her head against Wall-E's and starts humming that song.
Oh man. That was hard to endure.
And don't even get me started about the scene in the ship's trash compactor room. :crying:
