Not really. A non-exiled Tali actually makes a choice to be with Shepard. An exiled Tali has no choice.

That makes me wonder. Will he ever see the new councils in ME3? I'm inclined to think no, given their basic absence in ME2 in almost all fashions, but IDK. Default Shepard has the council dead. So default Shepards or Shepards who did not save the council will be unable to speak to any Citadel council whatsoever? Wouldn't that be missing out on a huge ally?

You know, in ME1 I was pretty pro-human. The simpering sucking up to theUNCouncil sickened me. I told Terra First I supported them (I still do: the keep humanity strong part, not the racism part). I saved the Council, though, because I figured it would serve humanity far better than a naked and unpopular power-grab. I thought long and hard about sacrificing human lives for those douchebags, though.
Maybe I got older or stupider or something because by ME2 I was paragon across the board and while I still think the Council is useless, I can see the purpose they serve.
Then again, ME2 seems to treat paragon a little different than ME1.
Edit: and I almost forgot the comment I wanted to make RE your Shep. Every sword needs a sheath or it just ends up cutting the user.
If nothing else, then saving them is a good PR move for humanity as witnessed by some events in ME2 including the news report about the turian government considering additional reparations for the human families that lost loved ones in the First Contact War.

Just crappy enough? Yea, I could see that. Not so crappy that they'd be disallowed a "happy" or satisfactory ending though. ME3 is said to be standalone after all - I cannot expect that actions taken in ME1 and ME2 would ever yield an inability to have a decent ending.NuclearBuddha wrote...

It was worth experiencing, I still stand by that. The reactions of the Admirals, the other quarians, and what Tali says herself was drastically different. When exiled, you can tell that the Admirals really regret voting so, they apologize, wish her safety and tell Tali to be hopeful. All of them.NuclearBuddha wrote...

Shala'Raan upset was quite a shock, too. Kar'Dana scolding Tali was surprising.
Though I did like how Tali basically says the belongs on the Normandy anyways.

Exactly, I agree. I did play a Shepard that had the council dead, and they indicate that Shepard had a choice. That's a good way to get people to buy previous games.NuclearBuddha wrote...

I want Tali to be with Shepard, but I don't want to FORCE her to be with Shepard. If the relationship I started continues, I want it to be because Tali loves Shepard above all else, even her own people, not because she simply as nowhere left to go.

I'm sure the suicide mission lead to A LOT of deaths. Other than Miranda, of course. <_<
