So, apparently my version of ME2 hates Rael so much, that it now glitches and refuses to show his animation in holo form or on the video screen at the end of the mission.
Still has his dead body lying there, though.

In my latest playthrough, I played through to the section where you find the "Jona's Mom" recording, and there was nothing wrong with it. However, I died right afterwards, and watched the recording again to find Rael standing behind her the entire time.
