I'm offended. Do you guys think that all Renegades are the same? My Shepard is a Renegon. He doesn't hate aliens, he'll do good, but he won't take **** from anyone.

I'm referring to pure renegade. All red, all the time.

I play as my personality (in my canon playthrough at least).  As for Renegades as a-holes, well first imperssions are the most important, and renegades almost always come across as a-holes the first time around.  So yes, you are all the same.

I go Paragade for MY Shepard.

100 Blue. 60 Red.

A guy who does the right thing for the right people, but will rain unholy justice down on those who deserve it.

Too bad Thundertactic isn't here.

He has a nice scale that shows different levels of Paragons and Renegades.

There's a difference between the guy who kills because he has to, and the guy who kills for his own amusement.

Okay as a Renegade well I guess either Renegon or Paragade. I choose the lower left red all the time. And I honestly feel a little hurt at the lack of love I've been seeing here for it. And honestly I must read any fic that can supposedly turn a hardened Renegade from the course they had previously followed. I shall see if that fic can turn me from the right path.

I think the issue, at least in this thread, is that many of the LLR options don't jive with Tali as she is presented in the games.

I know that seems to be the case for me, and Nuke, and Rage, and Sergio, especially where our fiction is concerned.  Possibly even CannedCream.  Redtracer7 and Rip, however, have very defined renegade leanings.

I used the Lorik Qui'in Glitch to boost both my Paragon and Renegade to 190 on my first import, but on one playthrough of ME1, I decided to go with only Paragon. And picked the Paragon backgrounds (Spacer/War Hero) and I recieved no Renegade points. during that playthrough.

There is a very fine line between those that refuse to back down from those that use that stubbornness to bully others.  Rengade, as presented in ME2, often goes over this line into bully.

All the time, I was Paragon, I am Paragon and I will be Paragon.
I simply don't like Renegade's attitude... Be rude, unfriendly, unnecessarily violent... I don't like things like that.

Honestly, Para 100/renegade 60 is how I ended up on one playthrough. However, I made a meta-gaming decision to do that. When I play through it how I would actually react, or how a paragon should react, I end up 100/25.

When I play with logic "How would I react" I end up with quite similiar readings.

Well, I said I'm Paragon, that's true but not definite Paragon without any Renegade point.
I'm not white or black, I'm gray,... True, it's very very light gray but still, sometimes simply Renegade options seemed reasonable.
And backgrounds, I chose "Earthborn / The only survivor" it's not Renegade or Paragon in my eyes, it's neutral.

When I try to play as how I would react, I usually end up killing more people than I should, because I think that talking to them is a little waste of time. I might give them one or two chances to give me what I want, before I start blasting.

I think that 100/25 is good close to Shepard how I would imagine him.
What is in my opinion absurd is 100/0 or 0/100. I think "Human" like that couldn't even exist. No one is black or white, everyone is gray.

Most yes are the  same but not all are the same.

My Shepherd is a Paragon and makes people ****** there pants why because he  put bullets in you, your family, your  dog, cat and Gold fish if  you get  in his way and he will do it with an  cold detachment that makes you think that he is not human.    But that level ire is only reserved for the worst  most renegade shepherds come off like the want to kick a sack of the cute  innocent quarian toddlers for ****s and giggles

I found a lot of parallels between Miranda's father and Tali's father. They were both rather controlling of their daughters. In some way, I think that they felt like their daughter was a trophy or something to be presented to other people. Tali was put through the most rigorous military and engineering training in the Quarian Fleet. Considering he is an important Admiral, Rael probably thought he could do no less than that.

Both fathers never really show they cared. Rael did care, but he never indicated so until it was too late. They were never shown love by their fathers - Miranda's father because he cared more about his empire - and Rael because he cared more about politics.

Therefore, both women had to rely on others as "family." Cerberus became Miranda's family. The Fleet was Tali's family. When you have such a large amount of obligations as Cerberus or the Fleet would entail, that is going to affect you. That is a heavy burden on you. What resulted is that Miranda and Tali both had lives dedicated to other people. They almost never do things for themselves. It's always the projects, it's always the fleet, it's always the suicide mission. Their romances are really about them doing something for themselves for once, to treat themselves.

I even saw parallels in their loyalty missions. Miranda and Tali both had people who they thought they could trust. Miranda had Nikhet. Tali had the Fleet/Rael. In their loyalty missions, they first go through denial. They couldn't have done this. They couldn't have betrayed me. It would be counter to everything they had known. But no. They were both used for someone's elses' motives. Nikhet wanted the money that Miranda's father had to offer.

The Admiralty Board used Tali, someone who was supposed to be a well respected member of the Fleet, for their own political agendas.

So both Miranda and Tali were tossed under the bus by people who were supposed to be trustworthy - really - among the only people they thought they could trust.

At the end of their loyalty missions, they are willing to forsake their own happiness, again - for other people. Miranda is willing to never get the chance to speak to her sister, so that her sister is safe. Tali is willing to be exiled and her reputation destroyed so that the horrible nature of the experiments is never let out, so the safety of the Fleet and her father's image is not compromised.

I'm surprised many people do not pick up on these similarities. Miranda and Tali are similar in many regards. They are workaholics who have dedicated their lives to other people. They are both strong women who are geniuses among their races. And their fathers shaped who they are.

I will also add that the factions that Tali and Miranda are affiliated with are pretty much demonized by the galaxy. Cerberus is known as a terrorist organization. The Quarians are stigmatized as thieves, beggars, and scum. Yet they were tireless defenders of their affiliations - and both were strong enough to tell their faction to go to hell when they feel betrayed.

Keep in mind, it is mathematically and meta-gamingly possible to get a 100/60 split in the game, without a previous game boost. All it requires is to take the lower right option whenever it is the only non-neutral response. Take all renegade interrupts.

With the 100% bonus from specialization, and the bonus from each ULB selected, you will have a 100/60 rating by the end of the game. Keep in mind though, that about 3/4's through the game, your scars will actually come back as your renegade points start to catch up to the capped paragon rating.

My Shepard is definitely a Paragade. Not so much -gade, though, since I can't play him with cold fury like he normally is.

Yeah, I guess that's true.

A good example of that is when I meet the krogan clanspeaker on Mordin's loyalty mission.

I'm always thinking: "GODDAMN, you talk a awful lot for being a krogan. If you were someone else, my shields would catch bullets by now, and I'd hear taunts about my masculinity."

And then I shoot the gas pipe. Image IPB

indeed

I consider myself as a very patient creature (Not sure if I consider myself as a human too :D)
So my personality-playthrough would be more Paragon than Renegade but I don't know how would I truly react in those situations, so it's hard to estimate...
