Prothean Cypher.

What about it?  It's in Shep's head.  And if you're talking about Ilos, the Council doesn't seem to have been able to get anything off it.

Anyway, Occam's Razor:  there's no reason to suspect something for which there is only circumstantial evidence when there are other easier explanations.

What I was getting at is the beacon and the cypher are implied to make Shepard react to prothean technology (the message on Ilos, not just Vigil).  Him and Saren.  Sooooooo, this implies that he at least partly registers as prothean to prothean/Collector tech.

That's all I am getting at.

Even if that WAS the case, not being able to feel anything with your actual SKIN would be maddening...

Like when someone's arm goes numb, but all the time? Yeah, that would drive me nuts after a week.

Not that bad. Just imagine doing everything in your life with a pair of well fitted leather gloves on. Everything.

Precisely, Chitin is like natures steel. If I were to guess, Cereberus removed the exoskeleton and then grafted it on to a Human Hardsuit. Because of its organic nature they were able to use ' advanced regeneration amplifiers' to essentially heal the armour during battle. This explains the increased health and regen rate granted by the armour.

God, imagine working in the lab that had to do that.  Cerberus has some very "special" employees.

The collector armour is partly made from Collector exoskeleton, thats why it is sometimes referred to as the 'Collector Chitin armour'.

Right, but it's not just a skinned Collector.  It's adapted.

Also, Sins of a Solar Empire is awesome and has an awesome name.

*brofist*

I love that game.

ALL FOR THE UNITY!

I always name my first mothership the "Rayya".

Riptide I totally love you and Buddha in a mostly-platonic way.

I always call my first capital ship the Qwib-Qwib for the record.

Sheesh. Reaper-tech is almost starting to become the new mass effect field.

Except it's not leather gloves.  It's an armored spacesuit.  Sure, high-tech materials and all, but still...

Not likely. I was still shunned for attempting to use it with my idea. Or perhaps it's just too far out there for anyone else to comprehend. Oh well.

Look at the material though, its not the same stuff as Shep's hardsuit. Her fingers look far too dexterous for armor plated gloves.

Imagine if you spent your entire life wearing gloves. One day, someone takes them off. You can finally touch the world. Feel it.

Okay, now that's a good point.  But Saren?

And I still think there are easier explanations for the Collector tech.  It's not as if you need something so convoluted to let Shep pick up a geth rifle and go to town.

Doesn't change that it's vacuum-proof and bullet-resistant.

Must venture into the depths of TVTropes to pick out some character traits for Garrus. Wish me luck.

General Rule of Video Games: The less cloths the females wear, the more effective they become.

Tali actually managed to defy this trope. She's just that ****ing awesome. B)

Oh, she was DEFINATELY sore. <3<3<3

In fact, it's a medical miracle that her and Shepard were able to move at all, much less fight a war against the Collectors. ;)

Here's Part 1 if you didn't see it.  And here's Part 2:

***

As the alien's long shadow draped over Captain Bailey's desk, the C-Sec officer glanced up.  "What the..."

"Do not react!" the alien blared.  His yellow eye shifted to red, flashing a beam of light right in Bailey's eyes.  "Pretend I am invisible!"

"Son of a-" Bailey shielded his eyes with the hand his wedding ring sat on.  "Shepard, who the hell is this?"

"I don't know," Shepard said.  The alien was now stooping so his metallic head wouldn't scrape the ceiling.  "But he's annoying."

The alien spread his arms, and his balance wobbled.  "Do not form opinions about me!  I am only here to judge!  Continue to ignore me!"

"Can you do something with him?" Garrus asked Bailey.  "His voice is actually hurting my scars.  Somehow."

"Hold on.  Lemme look up his records."  Bailey's fingers thundered over his keypad, and he squinted at the few lines of data marching on his screen.  "All right...what's your name, big guy?"

"The Grand Galactic Inquisitor is only here to judge!" the alien declared.  "Ignore me!"

Bailey's brow crumpled.  "Never heard of a Grand Galactic Inquisitor, but I'll look it up."  Keys were hammered.  "Although I'm thinking you made that up."

"Insults will be ignored!  I shall be ignored!  Ignore me!"

Tali cradled her head.  "Keelah, just make him stop.  My hearing modulator is at ten percent volume level and he sounds like a geth passing through a cheese grater."

After a few moments of typing, Bailey shook his head.  "Nope.  Sorry, Shepard.  Doesn't look like C-Sec has any records of any Grand Galactic Inquisitor."

"Then what can we do with him?" Shepard asked.

"Think he'll fit inside the Normandy's garbage compactor?" Garrus asked.

Bailey shrugged.  "Who knows.  Maybe you should ask around and see if he belongs to anyone.  Until then, guess you're his babysitter."

"This better not take long," Shepard said.  "I have a mission to do, and I'm not spending it talking to someone who keeps insisting he's not here."

"IGNORE ME!"

"We're trying," Tali snapped.
