@Nuclear: Maybe idealistic wasn't the right word. I would say, however, that she was "enthusiastic" about traveling through the galaxy and seeing news places. As an example, I believe if you talk to Tali in a certain place(s) on the Citadel, she says something about "I could get used to living like this." This suggested to me that she found the traveling exciting and a welcome departure from the Flotilla.

In contrast, she really never indicates that she likes the adventure anymore in ME2. Everything's more about the mission. This makes sense.

I'm with you on that description.

On the other hand, I'd suggest she hasn't lost that see-the-galaxy spirit, given some of her random comments.

Maybe she doesn't. But there seems to be a stark contrast. Whereas she may not really offer an opinion about the government in ME1 rather than simply stating what they are, in ME2 when she talks about them, it's usually coupled with something negative.

No, I agree with the ME2 assessment, but then she was the target of them in ME2.  It's debateable what she felt in ME1.  She could simply have been quiet about it since it wasn't important at the time.

I could complain about the politics of my own nation, but probably wouldn't to a foreigner, for instance.

Im thinking its not sexist. Its the same thing the with the standards for firefighters. Male or Female, you need to be at THIS physical condition. Guys just have an easier time at it. How many girls do you think could carry a 200 pound man on thier shoulders while running a flight of stairs?  Its about saving lives. I prefer the capable over having an equal number of men and women.

Here is a simple way to determine if something is sexist or not:

Make a squad of (firefighters, soldiers, ect) completely of women.  Make a squad of the same type completely of men.  When someone calls looking for you to (send out a patrol, save them from their burning house, etc) ask them which squad they want.

I can guarentee which one will be picked more.  Human culture at work.

Well, I guess Im an idealist, Id pick both.

Okay, serious. I hate Biowares blogs. Apparently the Raelia blog is so large it just wont load right. Any links past the half page mark are non-functional.

I got this for a while, too. Just copy and paste into the comments section.
That's pretty much all you can do.:(

Except I can't do anything to it. I can't highlight. It cant right click it. As far as my computer is concerned it doesn't exist.

Just to poke into this discussion, I must point out that this seems to make alot of sense.  She lost her almost naive approach to the universe.  As she said herself: "Damn the pilgrimage, without it I never would have know what I was missing..."

Agh! That line! It cuts me deep every time. :pinched:

This is off topic, and I promise you something I could go on with anyone on here all night about. I'd rather avoid that.

Let's talk about Tali instead.

I think it's evident that her opinion of the Admiralty Board at least worsened when they betrayed her (at least "used" her). She's also bitter about the Haestrom mission.

Oh, and on the Tali/Miranda thing:

Tali stuck around and worked to please her father, placing more importance on family and duty than happiness.

I don't she did everything for her father. I think she was doing it for the Fleet. Miranda in a way, is similar because she's doing everything for Cerberus/Humanity.

Miranda said "F- it" and bailed.

Wouldn't you? I can't say I blame Miranda for wanting out of that situation.

Their fathers aren't great analogues, either. Miranda's dad sounds like an egomaniac, trying to make a child that is essentially him but sexy (creeeeeeeepy). Tali's dad wasn't doing anything for himself.

Not sure if it's "not anything for himself." Getting Rannoch back isn't only going to benefit Tali.

I'm not sure the difference between "good for the Fleet" and "making father pourd/happy" is very distinct to Tali.

Definitely wasn't condemning Miranda.  The difference in situation between her and Tali justifies her course of action.  Maybe that difference is what I really wanted to highlight.

I think Rael would say he wouldn't care if he lived or died if it gave Rannoch back to the quarians.

So does anyone have a link to the rest of the comic featuring Tali and the baby-Geth?

On Tali's snarkiness... I hope it makes a comeback in ME3. Maybe she'll be happier now that she's got a home on the Normandy and can put some of that acid wit to use.

Or she can just burn Garrus with one-liners all day, that's be fun to watch too.

It wasn't too bad. Of course, that could partially be because my left hand/arm is stronger than my right.. I just write and do finer manipulation with my right hand. My left hand is for when I just need strength, like opening jars and crap.

I took a handful of archery classes back in high school. Not the. . . easiest thing in the world, but I hit the target a few times and I never killed anyone, so I guess that's pretty good for a newbie.

You're on an internet forum talking about a fiction alien female in a video game
which is arguably the longest thread on the internet this side of the
Leeroy Jenkins Video comment page on YouTube.

Do the math.
