Just to poke into this discussion, I must point out that this seems to make alot of sense.  She lost her almost naive approach to the universe.  As she said herself: "Damn the pilgrimage, without it I never would have know what I was missing..."

Agh! That line! It cuts me deep every time. :pinched:

It's worse if you're a male...

Because you know she's talking about you... :crying:

Wait...when does she say this?

On the Alerai if you try to tell her not to go to war with the Geth...

The "maybe you should give up on Rannoch" dialogue.

I know, I knoooowwwwww.
Shepard was probably the first alien to ever treat her with any sort of respect and affection (even if at the time it was all platonic) and then he dies and that had to have hurt Tali so deeply. Hell, know her she probably found some way to blame his death on herself at least in part.

GAH! I'm making myself sad again!  :crying::crying::crying::crying:

I'm not sure the difference between "good for the Fleet" and "making father pourd/happy" is very distinct to Tali.

I don't believe for a second she's doing all of those things for her father. She wished that her father had spent time with her, but that's a farcry from indicating that she was doing things to get her father's approval.

That's awesome.

I never could shoot with a bow... Not that I've tried much.

It wasn't too bad. Of course, that could partially be because my left hand/arm is stronger than my right.. I just write and do finer manipulation with my right hand. My left hand is for when I just need strength, like opening jars and crap.

You're a very wierd individual... you know that?

Your left hand is stronger huh?  Well. My mind just went to the gutter.

Okay, I'm crashing. Finally got the bite of Raela fic to work. Very good, very touching. Appropriately enough Taps on bagpipes popped up on my winamp when I got it to work.

Gnite Mancers

And my usual fic plug before passing out:

social.bioware.com/511958/blog/6694/

Now featuring Primal Tali (totally yoinked from Calinstel).

And for those in the thread of that persuasion. Semper Fidelis.

I'll take that as a compliment :innocent:

You're on an internet forum talking about a fiction alien female in a video game
which is arguably the longest thread on the internet this side of the
Leeroy Jenkins Video comment page on YouTube.

Do the math.

I never claimed to be normal.

I'd hate myself if I was.

On the other hand, I'd suggest she hasn't lost that see-the-galaxy spirit, given some of her random comments.

Such as?

No, I agree with the ME2 assessment, but then she was the target of them in ME2. It's debateable what she felt in ME1. She could simply have been quiet about it since it wasn't important at the time.

I could complain about the politics of my own nation, but probably wouldn't to a foreigner, for instance.

I think it's evident that her opinion of the Admiralty Board at least worsened when they betrayed her (at least "used" her). She's also bitter about the Haestrom mission.

Just off the top of my head, her dialogue about how Omega reminds her of home.  Her happy reminiscing on the Presidium.

No, I agree.  I'm just saying we don't know her opinion in ME1.  She may have always thought they weren't using resources properly.

Then we shall agree to disagree on this matter, I think.

It's worse than that...

She had feelings for him in the first game... she admits it... but she was scared to tell him... afraid he wouldn't see past her mask... afraid he wouldn't see her... or want her... because of how hard it would be for them to be together... it was because of what the geth did to her... to her people... that she didn't say anything...

So at the time... she's basically telling Shepard, "I never knew how much I was missing out, a simple kiss, I never knew how much we had lost, the ability to show the people we love our faces..." She's talking about HIM... if you think about it...

:crying:

Hmmm whenever I do that I just tend to say weird stuff.

Not much different from normal, actually.

It doesn't necessarily have to be that.  I maintain that whatever she felt in ME1 was unrealized.  However, the pilgrimage was the first time she'd been outside the rustbucket corridors of the Migrant Fleet.  She'd been missing literally everything else in the galaxy.
