Things are kind of slow.....

TALI - A.I. Challenge time.

We all know how Tali feels about the Geth and AI in general.

So....

Write a small exchange( or scene) between Tali and any of the following robots from scifi legend:

(1) Bender - Futurma

(2) R2D2 - Star Wars Saga(yes i know....beeps and stuff)

(3) Bishop - Aliens

If she's talking to Bishop, she's going to be surprised that Admiral Hackett is an AI.

So... do you guys agree with the way people say Tali's not a good leader?

Cuz I don't agree.

I don't feel like Freedom's Progress is good evidence. I mean a commander isn't a god, they can't predict or control absolutely everything, sometimes a squadmate does something stupid.

And Haestrom was completely different. The squad's job was to protect Tali, not the other way around.

To be a leader takes more than just saying "Do this, do that" all the time.

I also don't think she has that kind of military training.

But I'm good with the way she is.

She opened the doors and went through the tube on the Collector base. She doesn't need to be a fire team leader as well.

Her role is to provide tech support in battles. I'm not asking for anything more.

And just because she can't be a exellent leader, doesn't mean she's weak or anything. It's just not her field.

Tali is no support tech. Nay, Combat Engineer is what she is.

Well, I'm more disagreeing with the notion that Tali can't be a good leader ever (which is what a lot of people say).

If she, say, became an admiral, I don't think she'd be unfit for the position, or that she couldn't grow into it.

I still belive that there must be better candidates for the position, most likely some high ranking officer from the military.

I think Tali knows that herself.

And after the trial, I don't think she wants to be involved in more politics. And I don't blame her. I'm not a fan of politics either.

Tali isn't the right leader material. First, she doesn't have training for it or for the tactics, looking for the bigger picture in the combat. Second, her skills with tech makes her much more useful as a combat engineer.

Also, good day thread.

What I meant was her role in the squad is not as support but an active member on the front line. As a leader of a squad? Not if its an assault team but leading a bunch of techs and scientists in a mission definitely.

Hm, yes. She could lead a small team of techs and scientists, but still under someone else's command. Like Garrus ordering her to get the door open, override the security and hack the automated defense, then she would proceed to point out the other techs to the tasks at hand, knowing who is best in what.

Sorry, working on chapter 25 so bouncing back to the thread :)

I think she would just fine by herself without a leader over her but as I said, In a tech/science team. Say on Illos, no threat of attack so she could even have a few marines to guard the group but she would be fine in leading them.

In a combat zone, your absolutely right though.

No problem. :wizard:

Should have been more accurate, yes, I was indeed talking about the combat situation. In non-combat situations, she can handle the leading of a team well. But when things get more complicated, she doesn't manage anymore so well. I think this is what happened on Progress.
Tali was just overhelmed with all the new oddities that she couldn't hold the marines in the leash.

Just stating facts sir.

Way you see Tali's leadership abilities is exactly the same view I have.

Agree with you there Thelacan, I would be afraid to go against her in engineering :)

She is young still, give her more time with Shepard and the Migrant Fleet will have to watch out for Supreme Admiral Tali!

Lol. Even as I like the idea of Tali being the Supreme Admiral, I think it would never happen.
Because the duties that position holds, would take her awat from Shepard and she wouldn't never allow that.

Ah man, I should start to work on my own fic, it's already late. :bandit:
