I haven't read any of those, so it'll take a while until I get to chapter 13.

*Tali picks up the fusion cutter, eyeing her restrained foot as a timer blinks down above her.*

Okay, I know this is 25 pages too late, but what Tali'Zorah does is:

1) Ignores the chain and cuts through the floor where the other end of the chain is anchored.  ("Didn't think of that, did you, bosh'tet?")

2) Frees her friends.

3) Traces the circuitry back to Jigsaw's actual location.

4) Personally blows the #$#&*er's face off with her shotgun when she and her friends burst into the room.

That's how SHE rolls.
