If fighting is assured to lead to victory, then fight. -War 101.

According to Legion, whenever the quarians felt success was a possibility, they have attacked 100% of the time. Hasn't led them to victory yet.

Then victory isn't assured.

They probably thought it was when they attacked.

Yeah, I've never heard that quote before personally, probably because its rather useless, only useful in hindsight.  If victory is assured, obviously you attack, but you never know if victory is assured.  Thinking it is only leads to problems like the quarians faced.

The morning war did have only one good thing.

It allowed us to meet Tali.

Even if victory was assured, that doesn't mean you should attack. For one thing, the Geth want peace. Attacking them just because "victory is assured" would be wrong.

That said, the Geth need to communicate with the Quarians that they want peace. Otherwise, nothing changes.

Just don't say that to her.

She might be offended.

Yeah, I was referring only to a war situation, and I assume the quote was as well.  I don't think anyone is suggesting that war is a good choice for the quarians or in almost any other situation.

I do NOT want to recruit people again. That was ME2.

I want most if not all of my crew to already be there at the VERY beginning of ME3. As Rune said, most do not have a reason to leave. I want them here, with maybe some kind of slideshow to explain who/what they are and why they are here.

Now I'm not BW, but I reaaaaaaaaaaaaally hope they do not go "Shep dies, re-recruit a team". That would ****** me off.

ME3 should be about uniting the galaxy against the Reapers and fighting the war. Nothing else.

I'm putting my money on most of the cast being there from the start, but each having there "introduction" mission. For example to use a Tali based example, you might be forced to take her for her "tech skills" and Grunt for  "operation secruity" on some minor "fix the relay" quest real early.

Yeah, tell that to the billions of quarians that died in the Morning War...

You could say... If fighting is the way that will lead you to victory, then fight if it's not then don't fight.

It doesn't say that fighting is the assured way to victory.

You think?

She might introduce me to her best friend, M-22 Eviscerator. Point-blank.

Well, you have to at least recruit those from ME1 who didn't join you in ME2 and you have to recruit the whole galaxy.
But in ME3 has to be something more than just army. They won't stand against the Reaper Fleet in an open battle.

And then nail your corpse...to the Normandy's hull right before it hits a mass relay.

Crispy...

When did Ascension come out again? I wonder if the story was fully developed before they had any details about the Migrant Fleet mission in ME2 hammered out, or even before they had planned to include the Migrant Fleet in the story.

Mass Effect: Ascension, July 29, 2008
Hard to say tho.

You never know with a high enough paragon you might be able to turn it nice. Well at least nice enough not to be killed.

I'm guessing you spent half the game building a grand army to fight the Reapers you know, Geths, Krogans and everyone else fighting together against them, with who comes based on your choices over the game.

The other half I expect will contain Shepard and co seeking some kind of mcgruffin of some kind that needed to give them a chance with a final where Shepard must complete some vital objective to save the day.

Indeed, some Reaper secret, weakness that will give us the advantage.

Can't we just...analyse it and then make our own version of it?

Worked with the Thanix cannon.

If it's possible, then TIM probably already has some of them in his hands.

I'm actually hoping that ME3 would reveal that always going in the paragon way isn't a road to ultimate win. But instead, sparing someone's ass in ME1 or ME2 could blow back to Shep's face in ME3.

Because otherwise you can just meta-game everything and go totally paragon, saving everything, because it's just part of those "good deeds".

There are more... Fist for example but I've always brought Wrex with me, just for sure, so he is not danger for me.
