There's actually nothing that links the two that I know of. 

We know from Ascension that quarians have lips and teeth unlike turians, and no mandibles.  The dextro DNA thing is nothing more than a coincidence, considering that humans, volus, and every animal on Earth have Levo DNA.

I doub it, mostly be cause I think Bioware put some thought into the placeholder and will probably use that as the foundation.

I don't know if I'm a moron or something, but I realized not too long ago that Tali is actually the most alien of all the romance options.

She comes from a world completely different from Shepard's, both physically and culturally.

She is, without doubt, possessing alien anatomy ala curved shins and wide hips and three fingers and dem feet.

And that doesn't even take everything else that could be under the suit into account.

Well,Quarians and Turians are stated to enjoy similar foods, and their body shapes are kinda similar. It's not too far fetched to imagine that there is some evolutionary relationship between the two species.

Its semantics really, but regardless of how much I know she's beautiful, we can't actually see that yet.  (Thanks Bioware <_<)  I knew a long time ago that she was beautiful, and being able to see more and more of the face just makes it better

The sharing food thing is just because they've got the same amino acid base.  It's necessity, not preference.
