Well, considering the fact that the nutrient paste that makes up their diet is based on plant matter and the liveships grow plants for food, wouldn't that put them solidly in the place of omnivore?

Omnivorous predators are scary as hell.
Effective and brutal hunters that can still survive when game is sparse.

Actually I have not covered this aspect of their beginnings....yet. I actually see them more as omnivore, they were not the biggest kids on the block back then.

Read somewhere awhile back that Quarian concept art for how they had them looking some what like Na'vi. Which honest its not that bad of the an idea

That would be a enjoyable minific.
But I'll rather leave to someone who's good at it, because my English vocabulary is not so good when it comes to adjectives and such.
Other things can just end up hurting too much!
